Very unusual to write binary with a comma.

Only 1100 soldiers, but plenty of doctors and engineers. Does they count ingame as a soldier or not?

From the holovid report of TOM CONNERY, Commander, Terran Republic
1100 TR + 1100 NC + 1100 VS = *3300
*initially, cause later only the 1100 VS will remain alive

Well that's initially 1100 Terran Republic Solders. The New Conglomerate is composed mostly of corporate private industry folks who rebelled when the TR took over trying to maintain order and the Vanu are largely comprised of the scientific community who were enthralled by the lure of alien technology. Most likely the remaining civilians loyalties were divided up amongst the factions once they'd formed.

I hope you're taking into consideration the fact that the NC and VS have not officially formed at this point.

So it's confirmed then from this story. 1100 people will be invited to beta starting October 20th. Cool.

1100 TR + 1100 NC + 1100 VS = 3300
My thoughts exactly...1,100 per empire on a given cont. If that is accurate ... PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY
makes sense ....NC and VS are mostly comprised of civilians (miners / business leaders , scientists)

I don't care if it's only 50 people in beta as long as it's not in October. I think we were all kind of thinking beta was right around the corner with release being this summer.

Could be more. The TR would be just as likely to recruit from the civilian populace as the other two factions. Join the army for better rations, anyone?

You are horrible, Basti :(
Apart from the fact that we were all TR back then, think of all those people lost to us!
Now they will never see the wisdom of Vanu.

Here's one to all our fallen TR brothers and sisters who never made it to Auraxis or got to shoot a NC or VS in the face *sniffle*

So, this is how those draconic laws where enforced, and propably never ever lifted till the NC started attacking the TR on Auraxis, and the VS joining the fight.
Makes sense. Also, someone needs to do a TV show out of the entire travel from Earth to Auraxis. Something like SGU.
That would be brilliant.

Interesting how humanity went from hell bent on destroying itself to utopian right when Pluto was destroyed, and the fleet went from a peaceful exploration mission to all hell breaking loose as soon as they got through the wormhole... I wonder if those things are somehow related.

really liked this installment, or installments, since this one and the last really needed to be released together. i really enjoyed how the wedge that no one wants develops between the gov'ment and civilians. very insightful. Always liked the wondrous grey area that exists between right and wrong. and it was well set up here. "for your safety."

Well... sounds to me like the belief that something with the capability of destroying planets had the power to band humanity together - common enemy and all that. Once through the wormhole, with things not going as planned, naturally people disagreed on how things should be run and a lack of a clear plan of action can definitely destroy order and morale.

Wow, almost makes me sympathize with the TR, the NC rabble is now officially the worst faction
(Ironically, Tom Connery fits the NC and VS factions better than the TR. He would have placed freedom over security like the NC and was a real visionary like the VS. Although I have no doubt he also lived and breathed the TR ideals too. He was true unity between the broken factions, his death a great loss for all of us)
Also, if anyone forgot
I decided to call for a secret meeting between the civilian ministers and the military to discuss easing the restrictions. Morgannis and I are coming up with a plan we hope will persuade the people to put down their weapons and work with us. I believe if we fail convincing them, this fleet will become nothing but a collection of derelict ships within a year. The colonel and I have only three days to write up a strategy before our meeting on board the Discovery-7.
For the sake of the fleet, I hope we get it right.
Just as my father and the other Terran Republic officials meeting aboard the Colonial-7 boarded their transports to return home a massive explosion ripped through the shuttle bay and destroyed the ship. They never identified the terrorists who destroyed the Colonial-7, murdering my father and 591 others.
January 6, 2642. That day my life changed forever.

don't really hear a mention of NC. what you hear is "insurgents" which would apply to the NC and the VS equally in the TR's eyes.
