It may be for mechanics sake, people simply spawn where ever in the spawn room but if you blow up the tube it takes spawning down.
Or the rest aren't, you know, visible, because they are under the stairs and stuff.

Force fields on all doors. Spawning room is probably safe zone (unless ownership switch). So probably no spawn tube destroying.

Though there's probably another tube thats hidden underneath the stairs in the screenshot.

That actually almost dissapoints me, unless the SCU is in fact something to take over or destroy outside the spawn room to disable.
I don't care how many resources you put in this game. The purpose of armed force is to force the opposition to do your bidding and to do that you need to disable their armed forces.
Spawn points are the de facto objective in Planetside, even if they can't be destroyed we're going to be focused on camping the exits of that room.

Im sure spawn could be disabled. They cant take one of the vital tactics from ps1. It would be just less camping and massacre around spawns, better if scu will be far away from spawn than right next to them.

We can only see one tube in this picture...Perhaps there's another on the opposite side and maybe one tucked below the staircase?
Those red terminals are obviously equipment terminals. But one thing that really stood out was the blue aura/shield around the doors. Is it perhaps impossible for enemies to enter the spawn room? Or maybe it's just a shield to prevent people from standing outside and spamming into the spawnroom.

If this spawn room is similar, there could be 3 tubes in it like in ps1. Third one under that stairs.

Almost as it its coming from City of Heroes, I dont like that. As the first clear interior shot we have seen, please make it seem like these places would make sense.

Keep in mind that we will have a lot more people in these bases this time around creating much more traffic and road jams. This might help counteract that or reduce the issue

I'm betting 3 spawns. We just cannot see the 3rd one. Also, I hope to god they did not close off the spawn area like they do in TF2. I see those force fields over the door. But I really hope there is a way to turn them off so we can get in there and take down the tubes. Taking the spawn room was a valid tactic. Not being able to get in there is going to kill spec op missions/prepping facility's that the enemy neglected. You will have absolutely no way of stopping the enemy from just retaking the base at will.

Perhaps... but im still more concerned that the ceilings are too high. Even filled with people... I just cant see this looking "right" It doesn't look like a room someone would actually design for this purpose... just a room with terminals thrown in it.
In the original spawn room, the entire wall was taken up by this massive structure that made you believe something complex was happening with this re spawn... it just seemed to make sense.

Hmmmm, icons names are animals. Has Higby set a riddle?
Terminals: We can see two and there's also something in the middle. There are also two things outside each terminal which may be points to bind your character at. - Looks like it.
I think there's also a different type of terminal visible through the railings.
So:
An equipment terminal?
A Matrix terminal
A 'Class' terminal
and I can't think what the other could be.
Edit: the middle terminal is repeated on the first floor. Perhaps it's a fireplace?

Well, if we are lucky, and they did say they had a "hand crafted" world... this might be just one iteration of a spawn room. There may be many others that would be more "palatable".

I feel like there needs to be a few more equipment terminals in there. I see the two. But that just doesn't seem like enough. Also upstairs along the railing there appears to be some form of a box or something there. There is actually a few of them. Possible Cert terminals? The one to the left almost looks like a medical bay.

Anyone else notice that all the desktop images are cartoon animals with animal names underneath them?
-edit- it also looks like the room might be mirrored on the other side. Where the steps turn around to go down toward the tubes it looks like the railing is also going that way on the other side.

It certainly is a WIP but I do agree, it seems a little too simple and the textures just don't seem right, of course it could be the way the picture was taken as well. Until we seen the interiors through proper screenshots (that is, when they are next to done) I think we can get a better idea of the interior style.

Feedback: The textures make it look like there should be 2 levels. Scale those textures up so there is less vertical repeating. The repeating and contrasts are a bit too overpowering for a wall. In most the buildings I am in the wall is more or less plain white, not a complex mechanical looking wall that will give me seizures when looking at it.
Make there be a 'wall' of respawn tubes and model the tubes so they appear to be more designed into the base as opposed to a respawn tube sitting in the middle of the floor.

Non destructo spawno tubes? Force fields on the spawn doors? I've got that wierd tingling feeling I get when something is being changed... like dejavu in the matrix. :)
Actually it would be okish if they added more base assault options to overcome it and balanced their effectiveness. That was the thing which griped me about WARs RvR engagements... each keep/fort was a linear battle lag fest each time. Sort of like if the only way to take a PS base was through the backdoor and we just had the lasher spam fest every single time. :P
Was constantly ranting to whoever would listen about the variety of approaches in Planetside, with the gen draining, the equipment terms, the vehicle term, the control room, the front door, the back door, the gal drop... the spawn tubes...and I'm hoping the sexy new bases we've seen glimpses of are going to build on that.
Also, multiple entrances/levels to the room are a simple but great way to spread the conflict to reduce congestion (while still allowing containment with some thought). :)

It actually looks more colourful than I was expecting. I can see what Nobel means by the City of Heroes comparison. It makes me think of the Cray levels.
My only possible complaint could be that the walls look too busy, but if as someone else said that's just a placeholder texture then even that can't be criticized. Basically it looks awesome.

is no-one going to comment on the NC trooper in what would appear to be desert camo gear? i assume he is NC because a. he has a yellow stripe, and b. its higby.
will be another deviation from the PS1 allowing us to shoot something other than smurfs and barneys :D

I was going to comment on the NC trooper in the spawn room but it was going to be more of a jibe at him being in the right place, "get used to the spawn room Smurfs you're going to be seeing a lot of them".

Well, if the art styles on environment and player models are consistant, they should blend in REALLY well.
Take BF3 for example, I wont see people with proper camo until they move or shoot lol :D
And then theres the TR HA pic with the camo, it seemed to blend in pretty well when we consider there will be more distance.
I'm not really the one to yell sky is falling before we've even seen stuff in action, it's more of bringing up the point that it has a risk of going there. Cos from that single screenshot we saw, a proper camo should be nothing to just shrug at.

Theres a small piece of second very likely tube to the left and its also very likely that theres 3rd somewher under the stairs.

perhaps some basic colour changes for free but I think proper camos should be bought. If you are that into being sneaky you could probably spare £10/$15 for a few camos.
