T2 players will probably have a jump start in many areas.

First off, the vehicle physics are similar to T2's. It took people some time to truly get used to them.

Secondly, and perhaps most important, is the established structured team hierarchies and teamwork. T2 took a lot of team work to be dominate at. Much more so than any other FPS game ever. You can try to argue against that, but I've yet to see a good one developed other than "nah ah."

There's also ATF, which is a group of players from several T2 clans...you can find them here. (http://www.thzclan.com/hosted/planetside/)

I think the ground vehicle physics will be something completely new to all players, T2 and otherwise.

I agree. The ground code in T2 sucked ass. That's why between beta and release 2/3 of the ground vehicles lost their wheels and became hover vehicles.

I think anyone who's played a real team oriented game to any extent will have definite advantage starting off.

xuur (PS) = DV8R (T2)

I think it's more than just having played in a team oriented game before, I think instead it's a matter of having played in a team environment with the same players that will give you an advantage.

For instance, take 10 T2 vets from different teams and toss them in an outfit. Then take 10 T2 vets from the same team and toss them in another outfit. Which team do you think will have the advantage? I would hold that the 2nd team would, since those players are used to each other, used to the established command structure, know proper voice comm disicpline, etc from the get go, while the 1st team will need time to establish that (and with T2 egos, it could be a loooonnngg time).

And naturally of course free-lancers who haven't really played on any teams will have the worst of it, since i would imagine many of these types of players will find it hard to 'go where they are told' if/when they join a temp squad.

I imagine it won't be a huge learning curve, though, since players who want to 'go it their own' will find themselves either eventually joining with temp squads, or dying repeatedly solo. And by this way they will have to learn to be a part of the squad, or else be selected out. It's sort of darwinian in that respect :)

Although =DLR=, Doolittle Raiders never formed as a t2 team, if not all, most of us play t2. We will be playing as a team in PS.

Exactly, I've been playing with some of the same people for almost 4 years now (Tribes 1 days).

I've met a good chunk of them IRL. I talk to them on the phone now and then. I think we'll have an organizational advantage going in.

It's cool man... I just know that mentioning T2 in a PS forum can be like stirring a hornets nest. T2 is almost like a dirty word. All the haters are typicaly not Tribes vets. So they lack a great deal of understanding and must resort to Tribes bashing. Unfortunately the Tribes community is one of the biggest, most passionate that can be found anywhere. In spite of the l33t Tribes egos. The best battles will no doubt be between Tribes vets vs. other Tribes vets in other empires.

I'll be over here (barring massive FPS issues in the game), although I think the rest of =oV= is prolly gonna pass, so I'll be looking for another crew to play with :/ Freshly retired from T2 and playing DAoC till something better comes along.
