Your Predictions on Beta/Launch Dates.

I know it doesn't make the wait for the damn thing any easier. But what are your thoughts on when this bad boy will set sail.

I'm thinking Beta in the next 60 days and Launch in May. And yes, thats being very optimistic.
My prediction is only based off of how far along developement the game looks right now. I care more about Beta release than the games launch anyways.

Do you think the could start beta on maybe one or two continents? Start getting a feel for weapon balance, server load, and things if the nature. I would be happy just to try the game even if it was a little limited.

I'm basing it all on Higbys expression on the AGN when asked not to cut his hair until we get in. Hair didn't seem a problem, beard caused some concern. :D

After a frame by frame analysis, consultation with various hair(y) experts and weighing in factors like how likely he is to enjoy the caveman look... im taking a cautious stab at summer beta, q4 release.

Personally I think the beard growing would work in his favour. If it drags on too long then he could at least stroke it mysteriously... "soooon my children, soooooon..."

hmm no option for me. I dont expect beta till summer, maybe fall it it goes wrong. But they disappoint me if there will be only like 3 months beta (i expect too much complaints and proposed changes from community), so it will be out in 2013.

Oh definitely. They wouldn't wait for the game to be finished completely to start stress/balance testing the game with large numbers.

Where are all those saying: Dont complain about something now (when you dont know how its play), wait till beta and yell then. If its that short you all want, it would be too late for yelling about anything.

True though that's how it goes for most MMO's these days. Short stress test Beta's where fan feedback is noted but doesn't change anything before launch. They did say some stuff would be changed in Beta if it didn't work out. So here is to hoping the Beta is longer than just a demo period.

Hoping for beta in next two months... as for full release probably fall? I know they're itching to start generating some revenue but first impressions are important so they will probably want to make sure everything is well and good before they release it to the hordes so that they can live in micro-transaction bliss.

I think they would love to release in march/april, but I have a feeling its just not going to be there yet. I do however, see them doing a big push to have something out by PS1's anniversary in May and if they dont make the deadline, shortly there after.

But I really dont like the choices of this poll, it should be one or the other, beta or release. Because I feel beta starts in may/early june, but I really dont think it would launch by the end of summer.... I feel a long beta coming(which is good).

I agree, basically. I think it's possible to see release late this year, but not the most likely.
Critically, they shouldn't rush it...give it decently long, real, not-demo, beta.

With the recent few weeks and all the info comming out, I will admit they are futher along than I'd originally thought.

Just to add a little pessemism to an overly optimistic thread, though: Certain games have shown screenshots years before release.

I remember Q1 2012 for Beta was what we we told last year. Wouldn't be any reason to tell us anything like that if it wasn't true. And I would like to think we would be told otherwise if it were to change.
