Planetside 1 / Sony Under Attack?

Those of us that still play have found out that planetside servers have been down since yesterday evening.

Anyone from SOE want to enlighten us a little? The technical support forums have all been taken down and it seems that you guys are finding it impossible to get any support information out to your online community.

Are you guys keeping quiet because its a DOS attack from these hacker collectives who have been threatening to take down SOE sites over Sony's support of SOPA?

Getting a little information out to your customers might be a reasonable approach to dealing with these problems.

they got it up and running again yesterday. I was playing during the night, but their website is down right now.

DDOS attacks aren't exactly common, and given the scale and variations of the down times I'd think it was a network issue; not something malicious...

Yeah its all back to normal now. There were some network changes I think which meant the dns entries seemed buggered up.
I was about to launch into a nerd rage about stupid hackers! *8)
