Damn, those weapon models look AMAZING in game, with all the lighting effects. Is that a Gauss rifle variant with a drum mag? Though I can't tell if the barrel is extended or not, so unsure about the LMG potential. Added ammunition capacity for a standard Gauss rifle would be pretty awesome as well, but then one has to wonder if a "LMG" would actually be required as a separate weapon at all.

I really dont get some of you on this site, you are presented with what is to me an amazing screen shot of Planetside 2, the game you are all here wanting to see, then you all go fucking nutz about the desktop icons. I'm sorry but take a look at the fucking picture, that's what Higby has put them here for. He wants feedback on the amazing world they are creating, and your taking away valuable time in his day to try and hide what is on his desktop.

What are you expecting to see? A magic link to beta or something? I imagine its all game design stuff, so leave it at that and appreciate the fucking image.

Actually, no. I dont have All Access Pass and I see it now too.

There's a few possible scenarios here.

1) It shows up there cos it's gonna be free2play, thus unlimited play for anyone with SoE account, and since parts of it have already been put into the website database (since All access pass people have seen it for a good while now).

2) It has for example determined some beta participants already for example based on previous/current Planetside sub and thats why it now shows for some non all access passers, like me.

While I'd want to think its number 2, but probably just number 1, as all the other SoE f2ps are shown to me in the same way even if I dont have never played them.

I bet it is, I'm wondering what the buildings are... On the left we've got some weird landing pads, maybe an air tower? But on the right I see like a huge conveyer belt type thing... Maybe it's a mining facility.

I'm about 90% that tower on the left is an air tower, it looks very similar to the screenshot(s?) of the air tower.

The larger structure on the right looks very conveyor belt-ish. Those resources must come from somewhere!

But I am leaning more towards a tech plant.I want to say that we got confirmation on that being an air tower, but I don't know where it was. No idea about the facility on the right. I think that might be the first time we've seen it with a wall, which means it's probably a base. Looks to be every bit as massive as the bio lab if that's the case.

Oooh, that's really pretty. It looks like there is a lot of open space in front of them though. I want densely forested areas with shrubbery and herbs and such all over the place. I'm not sure how well that will go over with the capabilities of the hardware though. Hopes are high anways

....You haven't see all the areas and all the continents in this game.

And T-Ray tweeted a day ago that PS2 will have various, various environments/Biospheres available. ;)

Just to the left of the asteroid. It's very faint because of the fog, but if you change your contrast a little you should be able to see it.

Maybe it's the next facility we'll be getting a good look at? I'm guessing a Tech Plant or a new kind of facility.
