Easter Eggs?

This is probably just Higby joking about it reminding him of the movie "Demolition Man".

But then, I thought that PS2 will be a big game (in maps size), and that this kind of game is perfect for Easter Eggs.
Just look at Fallout games (1, 2, 3, NV), or the Elder's Scrolls serie, for exemple.

So...
Do you think there will be some kind of easter eggs in the game?
Or would you like to see some, well hidden?
Got suggestions on what they could be like?


Personally, I could totally see the old corpse of a man with a Halo armor/helmet, like to say "PS2 kicks Halo's ass".
Or the skull of what would look like Ridley Scott's Alien.

In all seriousness though, the previous PS game had easter eggs in the form of landscape architecture. For instance a little Stonehenge-like site and the Oshur fossil bird. SWG, EQ and DCUO easter eggs? Could be, there's bound to be devs that worked on those games. :P

Beyond that? Who knows, but doubt there's too obvious things that would be too obviously related to a trademarked property.

let there be a computerterminal somewhere in a hard to reach totally useless bunker on the edge of the map that shows a screenshot of the PSU site! or if the devs are really cool, make it show the actual psu frontpage with the actual news on it ;-)

landscape eastereggs are cool, too. like something that is hidden in the terrain in such a big scale, you can only notice it when you are flying very high in a plane. like those reallife animal figures in peru. you know, the easter egg, our dev left when he modeled our earth.

I've suggested to the team to have a crashed air vehicle like an old galaxy sticking out of the sand, or have an old decaying AMS overgrown by brush and vines.

We could always lore it in that our current galaxy and air vehicles were reverse engineered by the scans taken of the crashed and ruined galaxy v1.

A fun easter egg might be the old propaganda posters we see in each empire's sanctuaries making a reappearance.

And not just ANY alien skull, not Ridley Scott's alien skulls, but a specific, long skull with mandibles and a bullet hole placed on top of a shield and two crossed swords resting over a doorway as a mantle piece.

Credits Cave

A small cave with an opening that only a player could enter crouched, that opens to an illuminated long wall with all the devs listed. No fire zone, can only enter on one side and exit on the other.

Place it some far off random ravine that most would fly/drive/walk right on past. Never tell a soul about it.

I loved the easter eggs in Planetside 1. I did a big forum post documenting my travels to find the easter egg on each continent, but it seems like the search function on the PS1 forums is broken right now.

Looking at the amount of detail and unique objects on the continents right now in PS2, I would be shocked if there weren't several easter eggs per continent.

I would want to find a random skeleton somewhere on the map with the ship logo of the (I think it was) Discovery 7. You know, no explanation at all but you would assume that it's the former president of the TR that was killed. Perhaps place a broken drop pod next to him. Having him stretch out for an oxygen mask would be soooo badass though I'm only dreaming now..

6 skeletons of ponies would be quite awesome as well, considering how many people on the internet would love it and how many would hate it x)

A giant mass grave with the body's of the terran pilot who got executed for going through the warp gate.Some spot near the terran warp gate, every few weeks a new grave gets added.

You can interact with the coffins, so for the first one you find a body, then with the second one, death of a bullet and then the body gets more and more violently destroyed until the last coffin is a plastic bag with dust inside.

That lore video from a few days back really interested me.
