I don't like how this is being done, it's just too damn confusing. Where's the JH? Is it now common pool? Will I have to pay for it? There's no symmetry to the way you're releasing stuff - these NC weapons bear no relation to the TR ones released earlier. Argh.

A better look at this one makes me like it more. It's a nice looking weapon, after some of the other designs lately have been kind of "meh". Still think it would look nicer without the empire decals though...

How in the hell are you not NC?

I'd guess TR will get the Punisher and possibly the Decimator. With the removal of AT, the Maelstrom name would be a good fit for the VS, but I'm not sure about the Spiker.

Edit: So is it safe to say there'll be no common-pool/Nanite Systems weapons?

There's been an NS sub machine gun, possibly the suppressor. That's all so far though.

They've said that it is 70-80% ES weapons and the rest are NS common pool ones.

I think the point that people are trying to make, is that we're not seeing each Empires equivalent weapons.

We know the NC have the Bolt Driver for their Sniper, but we've had TR weapon week and we didn't see their Sniper.

We have also seen the TR Heavy Assault weapon (MCG, we presume at least) and we haven't seen the NC equivalent.

We seem to get a selection of random weapons from each faction, and people seem to be expecting to see each factions heavy weapon, sniper etc etc

I think most of us are just grateful you're showing us anything at all to be honest, but people do seem to be getting confused.

I love the look of the sweeper. TBH, I am glad I was wrong and it isn't the JH. Looking good guys. Keep up the good work. Now I can't wait to see what the JH ends up looking like.

They don't have to show us everything JUST yet, as they may not be fully modeled, textured, and rigged. Further, the NC having both a sweeper AND a jackhammer seems whole-heartedly redundant.

The "jackhammer" in name only will likely now be the TR shotgun equivalent, but it shoots explosive bee-bees like everything else TR does, instead of magnetically empowered molten hot slugs or pellets.

We've seen the NC MCG, or at least, we've been offered the chance to voice our criticisms, so don't get too discouraged just yet, each empire will see it's own variant of everything at this point, I'm sure, including grenade launchers, if they're making a return (the rocklet rifle and lasher I'm definitely up in the air about.) The variants just more than likely are not done yet.

Everything about this release excites me. First of all; the gaul it takes to not only take away the common pool shotgun but then to also give it to the faction with the shotgun monopoly is really hilarious. The fact that the sweeper is now Empire specific (And sexier) leads me to tantalize over what new idea's they have to fill it's common pool and counter empire specific voids.

I still wonder what that weird MCG was, but I sure hope it's not the new NC HA weapon.
More like a MAX stuff to replace the ScatMAX, hopefully.

I want my JH back! Even if I can't get in a Reaver with it.

Oh, and on topic: glad I was wrong and that it wasn't the JH but the Sweeper. It looks good, really.

what he didn´t specify: is this a ES nc weapon, or just the NC version of a common pool weapon like the boltdriver we saw?

This is what Higby posted about the Bolt Driver the other day:

The Bolt Driver is an NC specific sniper rifle, each empire will have their own ES sniper rifle, but due to the way our weapon platforms work, they'll have some variation even within the sniper rifles, this is the "sidegrade" concept you've heard us talk about a lot.

Why would we assume the Sweeper is being treated any differently? Both it and the Bolt Driver were initially common pool weapons. It sounds to me like NC get the Bolt Driver and Sweeper "in name" but all factions will have their own sniper rifles and shotguns.

This is precisely the goal of the design - allow players to customize to fit their playstyle while maintaining empire distinction. We don't want you to feel compelled to play NC to get the gameplay experience you want to have when all your friends want to play TR, but, we don't want all the empires to feel like nothing more than a color swap. So, we have blurred the edges to allow for personalizing your gameplay experience while still having each empire have a distinct overall feel and direction to what their soldiers can field.

If this is the philosophy behind the weapon design, I don't think the other empires will need to worry too much about not having access to a shotgun. But, hey, if you want to see the light and join up with the NC, we are still accepting applications.

I'm starting to believe a random speculation that popped into my mystical brain.

All weapons may be 'common pool' Nanite Systems, branding their design-matrix and all that corporate/business realm. Noticed in the description that they are "favored of the <Faction>". Favored which may probably suggest that there's some discount construction for the empire's favored weaponry and that they are ALL Nanite System constructs available to anyone.

Something fishy going on here.... :brow:

Those are not barrels, but magnets. It uses gauss technology, so those magnet "barrels" dont shoot out anything, they just boost the projectile coming from the center.

Also, I noticed the wiki had been updated so that the Sweeper (which we know is a sweeper) is said to be Jackhammer now o.o While it may take JHs spot, it certainly doesnt make it a Jackhammer.

Precisely, I wonder why so many people miss the lack of holes on those "Barrels". TBH, I can see where their going with it, they want all HA weapons to be like the MCG, a huge weapon that can't be held like a conventional gun. I'm sure we'll be seeing a VS version of it pretty soon as well.

LOOKS AWESOME! Just needs a little refinements. I really would like rotating 12 gauge barrels! Its definitely a rough draft but it is the way a Jack Hammer should look, only can be used with REXO helping you lift it:) Oh ya, and make it belt fed from a box that's cool and realistic just let me see the belt on one side getting fed into the gun please!

And then make the Scatter Cannon for the NC MAX just that much bigger firing 4 Gauge shotgun shells being the MAX can carry a lot more weight.
