We often seem to see people naming weapons with nicknames that bely its lethality ... like calling a massive artillery piece "Old Sally".

I'm struggling to think of some other examples. :lol: But you get the idea. Plus the beamer is retro cool - one of those iconic things.

I'm loving that they're keeping with the traditional Vanu designs. No need to fix what's not broken. Though I'd probably like anything they make, T-Ray and the artists are doing an amazing job.

Actually, that would be awesome. Make the Beamers individually less powerful then the other Empire's Equivalent, but allow them to "Cross the BEAMS!!!"
