Kind of cool! Seems like a neat engine.
Btw this is an effect they can put on in the engine but are NOT using for PlanetSide 2.

Did turkey die?
Also +1 for an ArtSide mode for PS2.

maybe they will put up a demo/benchmark for forgelight so we can see it in action!

Higby said they can put in after-effects on their engine. This is a painting effect and they are NOT using it.

What am I looking at?
A pixel shader doing a fullscreen post-processing affect. Often called a "brush shader". Not really that technically impressive, but they do look nice in action.
An example would be the Love game which used it as a visual element:

Thanks. I think it looks ugly.

On a serious note, I know these likely will never be usable outside of SOE studios, but it would be cool if there were some options we could have when taking screenshots or something to use some of these post processing filters.
Would be funtimes.

I tweeted the exact same thing to Higby when he posted this shot. If there was a way to do it, the players would make some amazing "paintings". Not sure how possible it is, but considering how it seems that Forgelight was created by a wizard-clone of Chuck Norris, anything is possible.

I'd love to see some epic screen shots from the game made to look like paintings. I'd hang that shit up on my wall, make out it's legit.

Those are some happy little trees.
Talk to the tree, make friends with it.
There's nothing wrong with having a tree as a friend.
Trees cover up a multitude of sins.

That would be pretty decent if you got some action in it, with some shootzoring happening and stuff. I likes.

I was thinking it would be cool to use in some kind VR training instances outfits could load up had some kind of "effect" like this turned on. Also would be a great cash store purchase too.

I think it looks neat. For other SOE's projects I think it'll come in handy at times.
