What are we hoping to get from GDC?

So it starts in a few hours and i'm wondering what people want to get, but also what they think we'll get.

I'm personally praying for a BETA date (I'm sure i'm not alone) and some info on the cash shop.

ACTUAL gameplay, not scripted scenarios or very tiny glimpses of action. Like a good 5 minute gameplay showing of the games mechanics. That's probably asking for too much but that would be amazing if we could see that.

Screenshots/Footage/Images of other continents

Any information on Naval based combat or plans for the future with space and naval warfare.

How base hacking/capturing is going to work in detail.

How far along they are in development, IE 75%? 50%?

A Beta date would be nice but we CLEARLY arnt going to get that since just LAST week they said they had no idea on a date yet.

More information on what vehicles we are going to see aside from the ones we have seen.

Cash shop mechanics and what kind of items we can specifically see IN the cash shop.

Color palets for weapon/gear colors and weapon gear camo.

Aircraft mechanics, IE are we going to see the return of the crappy PS1 flight mechanics where when I turn left it keeps turning until I can manage to stop it or something more like Helicopter/Jet combiniation?

I can continue just listing more and more things I want to see but I will stop for now.

I'd like to see the inside of a base myself. I want to see how wide the corridors are. How large are the insides in relation to the "bridge" SS we've seen. Potentially a fly-over of a continent, any of the 3 would be fine.

A more detailed time outline as to best guesstimates on time frames for beta, release, that sort of thing. My guess is things are being adjusted because of all the hype w/GW2, but something alittle more concrete would be nice on a wide array of things.

Short notice? Beta keys have already been released. Expectations are high and a beta date announcement would be the norm for such things.

So, I did some searching on the internet about Planetside 2 and GDC. There is only one article that mentions Planetside 2 being at GDC. Keep in mind, it was only mentioned offhandedly.

Searching ' "Planetside 2" GDC ' basically only brings up PSU...with this thread being at the top. It seems no one even knows that SOE is demoing PS2...or anything. I couldn't find anything about SOE making an appearance at GDC this year.

Anyone else see that?

So what does this really entail?

A big screen for media to see where a handful of development crew are actually playing the game? I say this as Higby tweeted the one pic of a bunch of people in a room aparantly testing and teased about needing help with it. and then the interview about the ForgeLight engine and "massive-scale battles". Sounds like they're going to do a playtest with all the crew at SOE and hook in the guys (who knows how many) at GDC.

If they're actually demo'ing "massive-scale battles" then they're probably pretty darn close to the ability to beta. It may not be with all vehics/armor/weapons ready for prime time, but the few betas I've been involved with only have subsets of material in the very early stages. Some people don't hear about this stage because its usually done in closed betas. Testing mechanics/infrastructure, before balance testing and fine tuning. But who knows, I bet there's enought people at SOE who playtest PS2 to perform what many games do in closed beta.

Just seems it's all coming together and the anticipation's killing me.

I don't think they showing vids. Higby tweeted just a lil bit ago about the GDC build. It sounds a lot more like they gonna be in the game itself from GDC.
