Whst is a thread prefix?

I tried making a thread in PS1 discussion, and it is telling me to select a prefix. I've made a couple threads on here before, and it never asked me that. How do I select this "prefix"

I've fixed the issue - it was requiring you to use a prefix you didn't have permission to use :) Right now we put News: prefixes on some post and only staff are able to do that.
