I got a geforce 4 mx440, it does the trick, but i'd recommend spending alot of money, the mx 440 will be worthless in a couple months :brow:

^^^ Yes MXs are crappy.

Also, a video card isn't all that matters. If you have a great video card in a bad system it's not going to be able to run at it's full power... What system are you planning to use? (specs)

Do keep in mind that the GeForce FX 5200 will only be around $80. Granted, that probably means it'll suck in a lot of ways, but at least it'll have DX9 support, pixel/vertex shaders and all. You might want to wait for that to hit the shelves.

Also, with that I suspect that ATI will lower the 8500/9100 cards into roughly the $100 range. The 8500 (renamed the 9100 recently) is an older card, but it's still got plenty of raw vroom-vroom potential.

So wait a bit before you spend the money.

hmmmm I wonder if the fx you spoke of will out do a ti4200? Im probably going to wait til early next year to upgrade my next card is going to be an Nvidia ive only had one radeon and has alot of problems with it which makes me shy away from buying ATI again.

Sub, ATI has gotten CRAPLOADS better in recent years. If you bought the card more than a year ago... that was a different ATI. They're that good now.

And from the rumors I've heard the low-end FX is roughly on par with a GF3 in terms of clock speeds. We'll have to see however.
