I didn't care for the guy doing the interview. He really seems completely uninterested... must be a WoW player. I think he even said something along the lines of " well that's exciting... I guess.."

To be fair that Downs Syndrome guy is doing pretty good, I think Hackney is just kind of awed at his high performance savant qualities.

There was a good question regarding Planetside 2 being as "full experience" as a subscription-based game as it is using a F2P model.

Josh's response was very good here importantly adding "getting people in the game is so important as players are our content".

If you look at PS1 this was so important - despite balance issues in beta/early release, it was still so fun to play with 100s of players which acts as a great equaliser. In the latter years, with approx. 60vs60vs60, any balance issues glare through, populations per empire are easy to get out of whack and sometimes there is simply not enough players to perform all functions on the battlefield and create any battle fronts.

F2P will work very well to attract casual as well as hardcore players alike and keep populations topped up ensuring the long-term survival of PS2 and make it profitable for SOE over time.

This is a rather old list of the dev teams factions.
The poll we had on the forum and on the front page turned out to be equal for the factions (33% for each).

That chart of the Dev's always had my outfit mates and I concerned. I mean I trust/hope that the Dev's will bring us an awesome and balanced game but it was disheartening to see that only 15% of the creators of the game actually liked and played the faction that we liked and played. Everyone always thinks that the Devs are out to get/nerf their class/race/faction because the Devs want their own favorite ones to succeed, but that list was a "oh crap maybe to really don't like us" moment.

Ah well at least it is more publicity for the game.

i wouldent worry about the devs stacking one side. if it did happen we would all see it in beta and no one would play the underpowered faction which would force the devs to balance more.

Truthfully, i think it would be a power struggle between VS and NC in terms of developer affection.
