What armor do you guys thinka dropship pilot should get?

Im not sure because a DSP(drop ship pilot) may need to get back to his vehicle quickly if he gets caught in the middle of a battle or is called for something urgent, but he may also need the extra armor for getting to his vehicle safely....

waht do you guys think?

all pilots/drivers should wear agile armor. A pilot would not sit around in bulky armor when he is already in a metal shell. If he is out in the battlefield well then he's a pilot out in the battlefield and thats not where he is meant to be and a reinforced armor guy could kill him. This game isn't about being ready for all situations people with different certs will be worse off in some situations than others.

ya but i cant help thinking what would hurt about having some extra metal inbetween you and death?

plus what happens if a DSP gets shot down over a battlefield and is trying to get back behind lines, would it be better to have more protection or speed?.

waht do you think?

Unless theres a restriction, i would rather be in an armor that takes more than 1 sniper shot to kill when im flying a galaxy. It will probably be a super-uber-rare occurance for the pilot to actually be sniped while flying the galaxy (im guessing so much so that most pilots will never see it throughout their PS career) but theres always that freak chance ....

ok... for first im pretty sure you cant fly a galaxy with rainforced armor. Reinforced is not capable of piloting any air vehicles.
So a dropSHIT pilot should probably get agile, agile can drive ANY vehicle they want with the right cert.

Depends on your prefernce.

Agile or Stealth... using standard is pointless unless you havn't gotten another armor cert yet.

I'd personally go whit agile, unless you just want to drop off your squad and fly off again leaving them behind. Stealth if you're the pilot and scout of your squad =)

You have to wear agile/infiltration for any closed cockpit vehicle.
Open top vehicles can also wear reinforced or standard armor.

you can fly with standard

Swore it said somewhere that agile was a pre-req for being able to fly. Until I find it again though, I will be quiet. :D

Ah, never knew that .. in that case ill probably double as pilot/scout with stealth.

same here, but im might actually double as a pilot/hacker, so i can steal people s galaxies :D

Stealth is pretty limited isnt it? Could go all-out and be a complete support stealther. :D Grab medic, engineer & hacking certs, but then theres pack space..

There is no serious difference in speed between an agile and a reinforced armor. If you can use a reiforced armor, do so. The only reason to wear agile is to use vehicles that the reinforced can't. The reinforced armors can pilot only "open cockpit vehicals". I don't know if the galaxy is considered closed cockpit.

You can shoot Galaxy pilots, but dont know if that counts as open cockpit.

Indeed. Does anyone know if the galaxy is considered open or closed cockpit?

It is surrounded by glass, closed.

my question is can you fire the guns in the galazy with reinforced? Prob not, but I dont know....

If you're asking if you can man the gunner positions in the Galaxy whit reinforced then the answer is yes.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought too at first. But the fact that they can be shot out of the cockpit would make it open right? So if all you could wear in the cockpit was agile, then you'd be much more vulnerable to snipers or other aircraft. I would think that being the case they'd let pilots proctect themselves better...

Pretty sure the Galaxy is the only one like this. Also, just because you can shoot through glass doesn't make the cockpit any less closed. :D

Well yeah it's closed, but what I mean is, if your gonna be able to bring a galaxy to a halt with a single boltdriver shot, that's just dumb right? So galaxy pilots should be able to wear reinforced to prevent that.

Agile isn't a singleshot boltdriver kill.. thats only standard and reinforced.

Reinforced is medium, agile is light. Truthfully I don't remember if you can one-shot an agile armor, so if not, I'm an idiot.
What about a mosquito tho? It could just fly alongside and and shoot right into the cockpit. Does it at least make sense that a galaxy pilot would be very vulnerable and should be able to pilot in reinforced armor?

i think that they should make the glass in front of the pilot in galaxies bullet proof or soemthing cuz man it seems pretty easy for a mosquito to just pull in front of a slower galaxy and unload in his face, sending the whole thing down. There are rockets, which are supposed to be used to take down galaxies and such.

But you gotta remember we don't know anything for sure until the game comes out.......god i can't wait........

DropShit eh? yea.....it can dropshit, like simba out the back of MY ship For fighting outside of a Dropship, If i eject it would be vera vera nice.....But helping the squad is staying on station to get them out if needed. If someone can shoot through the glass that could suck. Espcially since the Galaxy is supposed to handle like a pregnant yak

MAX tries to pilot Skeeter, splits hull, crushes controls.
