Server is down for hardware upgrade .....

The PlanetSide servers will go offline Monday, March 26th at 7AM PT in order to upgrade existing hardware. Downtime is anticipated to be approximately 24 hours and end at 7 AM PT March 27th. We will keep everyone updated as much as possible during the maintenance and appreciate your patience.

Knowing SOE's track record, I'm sure they'll screw something up with this update.

that's exactly what i was thinking...
why ugrade now? unless they expect the ps2 beta to indirectly bring people to play again? so this could mean PS1 is really going f2p...or lowered rate?
Remember those 2011 higby's screens with those PS names on it?
I'm talking about those "planetsidex" and "planetsidewarfare" names...are they related to a free to play version of planetside 1...?

Coming from a sysadmin standpoint, they probably shut down the last old gen server that PS1 was running on and threw Gemini on one of the new PS2 servers.

I think the server's been moved to West Coast because i normally had 112 ping from the UK and it's now 170-200. :(

it's almost unplayable from EU, i keep receiving the "connection lost" message and a huge lag spike of 10+seconds...and i'm playing with 100mbit fiber optic connection, imagine the rest of players with DSL...
