I spoke with Kevin for some clarification on this. There is going to be a short offline tutorial with the game that will give new players a basic overview of the game, controls, etc. It is definitely not enough to be considered a game by itself.

Sure I see myself playing it. When I first get a game I usually read the manual(or parts of it) then play the tutorial if it has one.
I dislike players that just buy a game and play it without even reading the manual or doing a tutorial then pesting you for simple answers such as "How do I get vehicles?"
I'm sure that the actualy VR training will be just as good or better(because you actually gain exp) than the offline one.

I got as far as just before spell casting, and then the thing when ker-puck on me. Since you couldn't go back and choose to start way ahead in the spellcasting section, I didn't want to waste my time with the whole first part of the thing, so I never tried it again.

yeah, the EQ tutorial had a huge bug in it, but they never bothered to fix it. No one could get past the spellcasting part...

Just how exactly am I going to "kill the game". I'd like to hear your reasons, because there really are absolutely none. :) How can you get mad at somebody for something they don't have control over? I hope you don't make fun of people with cancer and stuff, geez. :p

FF: I'll be in college in September. :) No cable tv is fine, we have satellite.

Most of the time when a player lags in another game (particularly a MMO one), it doesn't affect other players that much. It will make them devilishly hard to hit however. However, they will have a heck of a time shooting you back, as to them EVERYTHING is lag-jumping around as much as they are to you. Only in certain situations, (such as when you are on a low-bandwidth server) will another player's lag mess your game up. My Ge4 and Cable usually bag me pings of 50 and a really high fps, no matter how the other guys are equipped hardware-wise.

Any time I end up after a lagger in CnC Renegade, I usually just look for someone else to tussle with, as I end up wasting too much ammo on them and they aren't any real danger to me.

I wish that terrasat company would just pack up and leave to allow RDS to give us 9$ cable connections!
I wish those neanderthals would finish that new cable infrastructure faster :P~

Hmm,about this "offline" part of PS,anyone know if you can try out every empires weapon, vehicle and armor?

It's not offline, its like boot camp part of the game. You gain experience for going through VR training, and technically you can get to BR 4ish just by doing everything in VR. But the thing is, you select a side before you go into VR, so you can only use the guns from your side.

Actually there is an offline. That was the point of this thread, the Dev says there is an offline short tutorial to get you used to the interface, as well as the online VR training.

They should like make the offline tutorial downloadable before the game comes out. Just like Neocron did because right when game came out they all knew how to play and could get into the game and start.

 If they did that, it would take the 56kers to long to download it.
