Lol, you suggesting we ignore the rapist and child slaver? I think you need to reevaluate your morals.
There's enough room in the world to do both.

It is the responsibility of Uganda to deal with criminals within Uganda.
Tyson is pretty awesome. When the world is wrecked by global warming maybe then NASA will get funding to help the survivors living amidst a wasteland full of roaming mutant hordes escape the Earth.

Its this kind of isolationist thinking that allows atrocities to happen. If Uganda and the surrounding countries want help we should provide it.

He hasn't been involved in Uganda since 2006. You're a real activist there.

I saw a good quote yesterday, "We could totally explore the galaxy if we would stop acting like dicks for just 5 minutes."

Nobody cares about Kony or Kony's arch nemesis, that public masturbator guy. This thread is about how awesome Neil deGrasse Tyson is.
I think he has it in him to be the next big promoter of science to the scientifically illiterate, like Carl Sagan was. Tyson needs to make his own version of Cosmos.

Just like the "help" we're providing to the Middle East, right?

Oh yes, I know invisible children are frauds, doesent mean we shouldnt kill/capture that fucker Kony.
Seriously, if you think a mass raper, killer and child enslaver is a "not my problem" affair you really need to have your morals checked out.

How many mass raper/killer/child enslaver types do you imagine are in Africa? In the world? Do you imagine the only thing allowing them to do what they do is the inaction of NATO or the UN or whatever?
Neil deGrasse Tyson would not be impressed by your naive crusader mentality.

I love using the supporting kony 2012 troll on League of Legends.
As for who is paying for this? Well the USA tax payers...practically 1 cent of US $1 will do a lot.
As for being a stupid idea?...Well no....Nasa has advance our world a whole lot...in fact the cost are worth it because of the knowledge we would gain.
IMO way better than trying to find that kony guy.

The problem isn't the dream. The dream is still reachable. Tomorrow can come.
The problem is with the selling of the dream. Take the dream to Manhattan, to the advertisers and have them create a worldwide campaign for space exploration. When you get corporations to buy into the fact that it's going to be making them $$ to send people to Mars, you will see a resurgence in the space program.
Make space profitable, and we will go to Mars tomorrow.

But it was profitable when the government runned it.....I mean think about all the opportunities NASA/Soviet Union run space program created....Satellites, how much we depend on them today and it was all because of the government run programs.
What Im trying to say is that the governement and people should realize how much they help and give money out their own pockets.
Corporations...Im not sure if they will take the risk, I really think at this point in time you need large enough funds like that of governments to make it work.

The obvious solution would be to elect Newt Gingrich for President. You'll be living in moon bases by 2020!
