I've recently discovered the PlanetSide universe, and I'm pretty intrigued by it. I already bought a beta key for the PS2 beta (this game is too awesome to wait for a key to be sent to my email >:D), and I bought an all access game card from SOE so that I could play PS1 and get into "shape". Problem is, you need to buy the actual game before you can play it.
Therefore, could I buy a PS1 CD Key from someone? Maybe 25 bucks?

You joined IRC for 5 seconds. So I'll say this. You can buy the actual game for less than 25 bucks.

After direct2drive's merge with gamefly, that link no longer works and they are no longer selling a CD Key. Also, I can't actually get the box shipped to me, so I need the key digitally.

also am i the only one whos intruiged as to how you've "bought" a beta key, are there scammers on this already?
Or did you just mean that you bought a copy of the US PC Gamer mag?

Those were selling for $20+ on ebay be it the key or the magazine.

I don't see why every guide says you need to buy it D2D. I just downloaded the client from PlanetSide Players, subscribed, and played. There's no need to buy it anymore.

I went through this entire process for a new palyer just yesterday and it was not possible for me to subscribe to Planetside without buying it first because it was not listed on the Station Account subscriotions list
How did you subscribe Zulthus?

They hid it well.
I've also been 'trying' to resub again for the past few days but every time I try I get a payment error...

Yes they did hide it well, as I am fairly sure I checked there and Planetside wasn't on the list before I bought it. I wanted to make sure though, so I made a new account to check.
When I tried to log in I was immediately "intercepted" by a security warning that all SOE accounts must change their passwords. Funny guys.
And when I did try to change it, I got an error message:
"We currently have a limit on the number of times you can reset a password within a 24-hour period. The account in question has reached the maximum permitted number of resets and must wait until tomorrow to reset again."
So I am forced to change the password on a brand new account, but it won't let me change it... Brilliant
