Hey you guys. I'm thinking of resubbing into the game.
Is it still worth it or is the game dead?
If it's worth it, will these specs play it?

Processer: Intel (R) Celron(R) CPU 420 @ 1.60GHZ 1.60GHZ
RAM: 2.00 GB
Intel (R) G33/G31 Chipset Family

Also, do I have to subcribe to play or can I just buy the game?

I can't speak for the technical side, but PS is certaintly not dead, though certainly not bursting with life. Fights seem to be about 50+ per side at least, and you're NC so you'll be fighting for the good guys too! :ncrocks:

I don't know why, but I was playing today and I didn't have to pay a cent. Some kind of 45 day pass, non-recurring. Maybe I'd banked it awhile ago? Perhaps a re-sub incentive, come back to Planetside deal I didn't use? Seems to be expiring this year though, so it must either be recent or I activated it somehow unintentionally.

Only thing I can think of is that I inputted my PC Gamer Beta code for PS2. But, whatevs, that's not my point, mostly a tangent. The point is, it can't hurt and you might not even have to pay for it.

...but it'd totally be worth a month's subscription anyway. This is Planetside.

We just had an epic battle tonight between NC and VS (when i left 5 min ago it was still roaring) that had at lease 25 aircraft in the sky and alot of tanks and softies between the bases. its worth resubing until PS2 comes out.

1. im not 100% sure about this but around 1-2 gigs

2. those are when the best battles are happening. typically the mornings are inactive but it picks up as the day goes on.

The funny thing is that PS1 is so old, it will play on almost any system. It *MIGHT* even be functional on a netbook. o.O

I have been playing a couple days now and I have yet to see someone hack.

As for your other question, the Planetside install will reduce your hard drive space to "100" gigs from "102" gigs.

1. The TR do not have it tough we kick nc & vs ass everyday of the week.

2, There has been no hackers on for months, at least not all the times I play and thats a lot.

3. There are a few outfits out there that have 3 and 4 squads all full running - so yes a lot of people still playing - prime times at least. BTRD comes to mind. But you can still find a fight in the wee hours too.

TR always feels like easy mode to me with the chain gun. If my friends weren't on NC I'd probably have switched.
But yes, the fights are still fun.

I miss it, but I don't wanna return and have a ghost town with nobody to play with/around. I only started playing Planetside a week ago and the games battles seem to be getting slightly bigger by the day even since I joined. From what I've heard the game use to be way funner years ago but it is nowhere near close to a ghost town.

Excellent. Excellent. I'm glad to hear that -- I decided to get the ball rolling today; logged into my Station account to make sure everything was in place for a Friday renewal, but I was surprised to find that I didn't have a Planetside key attached. Come to find out I had lost access to the email for that account somewhere along the way, gotten frustrated and created a new account for the rest.

Cut to today, and I'm freaking out over my old account and having to buy the game again on top of subbing, and then I think 'well maybe, just maybe Customer Service can help' even though I wasn't sure of the account name or password. All I had was my CD-key and the original game box (because I'm a packrat, woo!). So I get on the chat with a customer service rep and after ten minutes? He has me packing with my original Station account with my original Planetside account attached. Now to wait for Friday for my return to Auraxis.

This, whenever someone says people are just being nostalgic and don't remember the game for how it was I remember that I played for 45 days not that long ago.


Well it wasn't long ago when people were saying it a lot, it's been roughly 10 months now.
