Almost half off. Quad core.

Jesus that IS an insane deal.

In store only :(

Thank god, that + a new motherboard would ruin all my fiscal responsibility.

Aw fuck, there's a microcenter right down the street from me but I'm set on Ivy bridge... Still a pretty good deal.

That's nuts. Too bad I'm getting Ivy.

The question you need to ask yourself is what Ivy part are you buying. If you're going for the $200 part this may still be faster.

indeed, that's what makes it so tempting. Also, is PCIE3, resale value, and bragging rights enough justification to wait? :(

Wow, that makes it cheaper than a 2500K. I don't really think it's worth it to wait unless you want better onboard graphics and less than 1 fps increase :P

For $200 I will take a 2600K over a 3570K any day. There are a few sources saying Ivy doesn't overclock as well as SB either. If you can this a few hundred MHz over the 3570K even with its IPC advantage the HT on the 2600K will make this a better processor imo.

Would be insane to pass that up.

well, the microcenter near me is showing the normal price, and I can't seem to get through to them on the phone.

Google shopping is still listing at $199 from the store near me. Going to head over there in a bit. Will post an update.

I had already ordered the ASUS z77 and RAM. Should hopefully be able to put this thing together mid next week. Really excited.

Hmm... this concerns me:

That Microcenter deal looks even more attractive now.

That is what I'm afraid of too. Back before I got my 2500K in October I was planning on waiting for Ivy. I am so glad I didn't if this is true not to mention I've had my computer for over 6 months, since it will finally be released.

meh, overclocking.

My primary concern is on the TDP number there. Cooler and quieter any day, when the CPU is good enough anyway.

I spent 10 minutes in my bios and managed to get my 2500K stable at 4.5GHz. I have a Thermalright Venomous X in there with a Scythe Gentle Typhoon. Its pretty cool and quiet...

Sandy Bridge is too easy to overclock to let it sit there. Touch it... you know you want to.
