Felt like sharing my Desktop, and after searching around the last time a thread was made for this was about 9 years ago lol. So share away if you'd like!

I'm not going to bother posting mine.. its probably the most generic desktop ever. :lol:

Thanks Hamma! Just to explain whats going on a bit.

All of the icons are custom made. The Terran Republic circle is actually a CPU and RAM meter, so it's always constantly moving and looks cool. The screenshot is actually a Planetside 2 slideshow, and goes through hi-resolution shots that have been released on Planetside 2. There are virtual desktops at the bottom left, which basically give me four completely separate but usable desktop areas. I can, for example, open TeamSpeak 3 and mIRC on one, then switch to another so I can have both programs running without taking up screen space. There's also a Media player at the bottom right, and static media controls at the top right if don't have access to the desktop media player.

You should still post your desktop regardless! There's the point you know. :cool:

Nope, all Windows 7 64-bit. I like your wallpapers, though not a fan of Windows 8. Here's another image of the desktop to show you how I browse the web lol.

Wow, that must've taken quite a bit of time to get it that way. I know there's quite a bit of customization possible in Windows 7, but it's MUCH MUCH MUCH more annoying than on GNOME desktops.

Also, what program are you using for the virtual desktops? I've never been able to find one with functionality as good as that on a Mac or Linux.

Not a problem. I was a bit tired from work today, so tomorrow I'll make a second attempt at making the video tutorial. Doing a written tutorial would just take way too long, and I can already see the tutorial being about 30mins long if I rush it.

Here is mine. The background might look off, but that is to make up for the beveling between the monitors.

In the middle of a semester right now, so have not cleaned up my desktop in a few months.

Awesome video, while I'm running win7 I'm weird in that I like wide open spaces and as little as possible running in the background. Also things moving distract me :doh:

Nah. I had a nerdfetish for robots back in 2003 when I made my first character, so I named him after the one anime I watched.. that had big robots. Was never a big anime guy really. I won't change my name because (for better or worse) that's what I'm known by now on PS.

I like the calendar and news feeds windows especially. Anyway is there a way to update news feeds automatically when I connect to web? I have to restart whole Rainmeter for feeds to show up.

Made it more NC for Lynx. :lol: I didn't put it into IMG brackets because in preview it came out HUGE.

Thanks Saieno for your awesome tutorial. I didn't add a few things that you did, and the images don't look as bad since it's separate monitors. I hope I got the blue NC enough (I have color issues.) I think I'm going to eliminate the top bar entirely though, and just move the power button down. But yeah. When I show my friends I'll show them your video so you get credit for being a badass.

I put the windows 8 preview on my desktop right now. Not much to look at due to clean install... Definitely has some better performance and some helpful smaller changes. At first I would use start screen like I used to use start menu, not much different except it takes up the whole screen. Slowly I started using all the apps in there and they work well... I've also been using OneNote + Skydrive a lot lately they are great everything syncs together nice.

Mine is comprised of 10+ pics of WWII planes, anime angels, and a Planetside 2 Reaver being chased by 3 Scythes on Amerish, pretty damn baddass if you ask me :P Oh, and let's not forget about the icons. I absolutely HATE clutter on my desktop and I think it kills babies and secretely wants to get rid of all the bacon in the world... >_> <_< >_> <_<

Therefore, I only have 1 column of the standard desktop icons and two folders labeled Games (contains all of the PC games I play) and the other labeled Gaming Software (which contains Mumbl,e TS3, Ventrillo, FFsplit [soon to be fraps, I friggin' hate FFsplit -__-"],and Raidcall. I think a few others, but I'm not sure).
