Microcenter is legit. I got a 2500k and my Z68 mobo for... $220.

Hell yeah, one of the few actual stores out there that stocks a decent selection of parts. I miss having one nearby.

I was set on the 2600K and Z68 but lost my backbone and broke down in Microcenter

That's a pretty hefty bit o' mobo $$$. What's the pro got over the regular -V?

Even within one specific chipset these manufacturers really need like a comparison table.

EDIT: found one http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/ASUS-P8Z77-V-PRO-Motherboard/1529

The Pro gets 2 more USB3.0 and 12+4 instead of 8+4 voltage regulation

LOL I'm about to dump money on either an i7 920 or i7 950 with a nice x58 mobo for around the same price. Reason? Price + triple PCIe, SLI GTX 460 + 9800GTX Physx.

Bad investment.
