In the week before Beta is released, would it be possible to see the full cert tree taxonomy?

Nothing worse if Beta is from scratch / normal paced than to make mistakes with certifications. Path dependency gone wrong is frustrating as hell.

Prior study would generate more hype, and give outfits a chance to organise. Plus it would give us mortals opportunity to see if what we had in mind about character development was down the right road.

Who knows they might give us xp showers like the original planetside test servers , or unlock everything modes. But theyll want feedback on the cert progression i guess too. There might be a skill tree ingame you can look at and plan your cert route from there.

This isn't an MMORPG where you are locked into one skill tree or another. Eventually, you will be able to unlock everything (on your empire) for a single character.

Skill trees may not even be that finalized by the time beta starts, and there will likely be many character resets and times where they give free xp or make everything available to everyone.

This isn't an early head start for progressing your character or outfit, this is to test the stuff out. I would like to see a cert tree early as well, but just out of interest.

I'd love to see the cert tree early, even if its only an early build of what it'll be like post-release.
Just to get a rough idea of how hard it'll be to get to various marks; Galaxy pilot, commander, sunderer supplier etc.

It'll be interesting to see if people need to dedicate themselves for a while to one set path before they can even start looking into adjacent areas, e.g - 3-4 weeks of galaxy dedicated certs, before looking into the reaver certs.

This worked pretty well for Blizzard with Diablo 3. They gradually revealed skills and eventually showcased full skill trees. As far as I could tell, people loved it, though I don't have statistics to back that up.

I'd like to see it myself, but I'm not the sort who'd be the target for such an information release, and neither is anyone else here. Most of us are probably going to be throwing money at Planetside 2 regardless of pre-release information.

Skill trees make or break a lot of games for me, lol

I doubt the cert tree will be finalized before beta. Balancing that out is going to be one of the tasks that can only be completed during a large beta period.

Hell, since they are going free to play, why not start selling us information about the game like the perks? I wouldn't mind paying something to register a character name and having access to a character profile. I wonder if we are going to get API keys so they can be utilized in the same way Eve players get to.
