I can see this turning into a fight over warp bubbles.
As an empire gets to big they will push the others back, then we have the warp bubble fights.

Any ideas?

They should put in stairs so we can fight on foot from the top of the warp bubbles and have crazy fights up there.
Until we can push people off the continent.

Warp bubbles make everyone's weapons do 200% damage. :(

Not anymore... each empire has a foothold in a warpgate and they're out of bounds. I hate artificial barriers. It better not be some 10 second countdown crap..

We'll have to see if a faction can even get up enough steam to push another faction all the way to the bubble, first. Could it happen? Sure. Especially if the factions become somewhat time-zone oriented. But during prime hours? I dunno, should be fun to find out, though.

Unless it's different bubbles other than the faction footholds then it sounds like spawncampside to me. If a faction is pushed all the way back to its foothold there's no way they're going to do any better while inside of it. (Unless they implemented a buff of some sort, Icecrown Citadel all over again)

Interesting... There are some possibilities for "BigBubbleBustingBreakoutBattles" (whew)!
1. Massive EMP burst, I mean massive... it could be triggered, or on a timer once bubble-locked.
2. Engineer constructed bubble turrets, that can fire from inside the bubbles to the outside.
3. Local orbital strike launchers in the bubble with limited range, that can only target within a certain radius.
4. All cert timers refreshed once in bubble, if bubble-locked.
5. Targetable squad teleporter pads, crazy idea... but a whole squad could be "routered" to an area within visual range, or a "SquadPod Launcher" could do the same thing.
6. "Off map artillery", used by leaders that have high mission tree permissions, simulating a "battleship" in the near-bubble area. A strategic asset strictly used in case of bubble-locked crisis...
7. "Bubblebabies" (LOL, gimme a better word!), where bubble technology allows vehicles (perhaps everything) exiting a bubble to have a spliced-off bubble effect for a random short period of time. Not sure if it should be a super-shield, or very short duration invulnerability... Alternatively, it could be an invisibility cloak, with a random timer. No... there would not be a stupid graphic around you... well, there better not be...
8. The bubbles seem to be close to water, so heres a really stupid idea... how about tsunami generators off the coastline, LOL...
9. Instant respawn timers if bubble-locked, and respawning into bubble.
10. Or, we could just beat our heads against the wall in frustration while being farmed...
Those are some ideas to combat camping, and make busting out of a bubble-lock more doable.

I hope they don't bounce off like they did in PS1, straight up explosion would be much cooler.

Can't bubble trapped empire go spawn somewhere else?
They've already been defeated on that continent, just group up somewhere else first and cooperate for a push.
Of course, I miss the sanc already by just thinking about this. :)

With only 3 conts at launch, during prime time they may not have anywere else to go.
Assuming each empire has its own "Base" Warpgate and that these Warpgates are locked then you will always be attacking a certain continent from the same direction.
ie Warpgate bottom left of map, that faction will always be attacking North & East. One of PS1's strengths was the change of warpgate links between conts. offering different prespectives of advance.
Constantly attacking from North to South on Solsar got stale but the gate-swap flipped this totally offering a new perspective to the same cont. (ie a good thing)

How about instead of warp gate bubbles acting as weapon disablers they act as giant, empire locked, one way shields?
This would allow the empire in the bubble to shoot out but not be shot at. Of course there would have to be a lot of cover outside the bubble, so you could potentially keep an empire trapped in their bubble. The empire in the bubble could still shoot out and kill enough enemies outside of the bubble to push out.

Out of all those, I only see one as a plausible solution: number 9. But luckily, that sort of a thing can really have a dramatic impact on the practical number of soldiers on a battlefield, so I think that's the real solution.

Yeah, I was just brainstorming a buncha BS, not taking it too seriously... I think if/when there is a bubble-lock, we will just have to fight out on our own, or go elsewhere.

The problem is that this won't happen till there are more continents. Till then, servers will probably be so full they can't even move to another continent and zerg fight threeways all we have.

That's not necessarily true. If each foothold has a warpgate beam at the center then it's possible you could be able to warp to a different warpgate on the cont and attack from there. My guess is there will be no fixed intercont-lattice so all warpgates could be Broadcast.

This is how I'm guessing footholds will work. So they'd behave lik Sanc gates that you could shoot out of to discourage enemy camping.

Again, didn't the devs already say warpgates would be faction specific and out of bounds to each other?
