New Repeater

This probably isn't "new" but I hadn't seen it mentioned before. The TR have had a bit of a reworking in terms of weaponry. The Cycler looked like an AK-47 in the teaser trailer last summer, and it got reworked. But so did the repeater...

New repeater looks a lot beefier, and like it has a little minature drum magazine in front of the trigger guard. That is what I would expect, though it also bears a strong resemblance to the Mag pistol.

We've also seen gold plated Mag pistol and a gold plated Beamer, but no gold plated Repeater. The TR on the Dev Team need to step up a bit and and show some of that loyalty!

I hope Malorn is right and that it IS the new model, as the old one from the original trailer never looked finished to me.

Ideally I want a pistol to look and feel so awesome that I never want to switch to my rifle. The pistol in Deus Ex 3 is a good example:

Same ... I didn't care for the red dot (Never do on pistols.) but the new model just looks ridiculous to me. Looks like a 4 story building with a grip and a trigger.

It's about the same size as the new med-applicator. And in the TR's hands the Repeater will be about as much use for killing enemies :doh:

God, that's one ugly m*thef*cking gun - it looks like a double-decker bus. I really hope this is a common pool weapon from NS since it has no TR insignia. To be honest it has the NC look actually (hard-hitting and slow and not TR which should be lighter but faster). I myself by far prefer the "old" version.

I loved Zenith from Deus Ex 3 and Dredd's Lawgiver looks good too - but this gun above is just plain ugly.

They said there will be different classes for each weapon. A "light", "medium" and "large" variant. That is the large variant on the repeater, if you look through the screen shots you will see the two other variants of it.

That's a relief to hear - I'll definitely go for a lighter version. I went over the screenshots and found NS pistol (http://www.planetside-universe.com/media/album/vmscby2n9f/20111116_4ec4427c93640.png) which although also big looks much more natural in comparison to this abomination of a gun. Beside it's ridiculous height (I wonder how I'll be possible to aim and shot down sight with this thing) there is another thing which look horribly wrong - the center of it's mass. The handle seems tiny and everything is concentrated in front, it looks like it will flip over any moment and you'll end up shooting yourself in the knee or worse. :rofl: This kind of gun I could only imagine being fired from hip not like these pictures indicate.

Here's a better angle on the new one. Looks like a completely new model to me.I believe he was correct. We've seen cloakers carrying a very different pistol that still fits the basic description. While it's possible that what they have is a completely different pistol I think it more likely that the weapons are simply customized.

The Vanu Sovereignty knows how to make a more compact sidearm. Primitive NC and TR weaponry has to be twice as large just to have enough stopping power to compete.

Yeah I can see how you'd be confused because it looks very similar to a trigger. However, that's actually a Win Button.

Guys, the "old" repeater is still in the game, so maybe this is a different gun or what DayOne was saying in which there are different versions/customizations of the gun.

If the light, medium, and heavy pistol variants comment is correct then I like it. It's silly and huge. I'm sure that what ever power it gains from being silly and huge are off put by downsides such as recoil, rate of fire, and accuracy. I wouldn't be surprised if the NC heavy pistol looked like a Warhammer 40k Bolt pistol. In fact I would encourage it. Just as long as VS got 40k Plasma pistols.

No, these are entirely different gun models with entirely different shapes. No amount of weird perspective or cutting and pasting in photoshop will make a glock look like a howitzer.

Given we see the old repeater and the new in the same picture (great catch LostAlgorithm!), looks like we have some reasonable evidence that there are pistol variants as there are rifle variants.

I do hope one of the TR pistols is like RoboCop's pistol though. I remember a dev comment at some point about the repeater having a burst-fire mode, not sure exactly where. It certainly fits.
