Just got back from the midnight release, personally I thought it was fucking awesome. I'll leave it at that for now because I don't want to spoil anything, but for those of you who have seen it was it as awesome for you?

Anyone seen it in 3D yet ?

NCLynx

Didn't see it in 3D, I'll be seeing it again here in a couple hours :D

I'd like to think this means they'll focus on making Avengers movies now more than the solo-hero movies for Marvel. Especially how they set it up for a sequel perfectly.

Not sure why, but this came out last week in Europe. So I got to see it last Saturday. Fantastic film. Great action, very good one-liners and a takes-you-along plot. Brilliant!

Friend at work has seen it 3 times in one week!

If you have liked Marvels "superhero movies" the tiniest bit, you will probably love this one. Even if you arnt overly fond of superhero movies, this is still a good watch.

I compared it most to Iron-Man (the first one, not the second one) as I feel the first Iron-Man was probably the best out of the superhero movies so far (not including The Avengers). Although personally the only one I didn't really like to much was Iron-Man 2. The rest of um I really liked.

Disney just released the numbers for yesterday and this movie is now going to easily top $200m this weekend and has made $640m in the first ten days overseas and US.

Harry Potter had the old record, it was $169m

The most incredible film ever. 10 out of 10. Clever, funny, actually well choreographed action. And true to comics.

Those looking for someone to blame for it being kickass look no further than Joss Whedon. A geeks geek who made the film dream come true. Check out his other stuff, there is nothing that he is involved with that i havent enjoyed. Doll House included.

Micheal Bay has nothing on Joss the Boss.

Addendum:

So apparently all the show times I actually want are sold out for the next few days... think tomorrow I'll just ask bank chick out and then buy the passes on Fandango.

I saw it yesterday. Showed up 30 minutes before and it sold out for that showing. Luckily there was another 30 minutes later so we just waited. Awesome movie. Nice summer line-up. We have Battleship May 18th and then Prometheus June 8th.

I feel so bad for future generations. Hollywood is adding so many good movies that it will soon be impossible to watch them all in a life-time.

As much as I didn't like it at first, SpiderMan reboot is July 3rd as well.

HULK stole the show at the end. Really well done movie, with everyone getting their fair share of screen time. The director did a awesome job with its all star cast.

Really excited for the potential sequel. However I bet it'll be hard to top this one right here. Only took several years/movies to lead up to this very point, and the sequel will have to come out guns blazing if it thinks it will get the same reaction.

Thor 2 - November 15 2013
Iron-Man 3 - May 3 2013
Captain America 2 - April 4 2014
Hulk (Reboot...again but this time with the guy who played him in The Avengers) - sometime in 2015

Also there's talk of a Nick Fury movie to expand on Nick, Black Widow, and Hawkeye.

Coulson isn't dead,he was on Geektime on Howard 101 on sirius talking about how busy he is going to be with all the new movies coming, he is under contract for them all.

Disney just announced they were starting work on A2 LOL

I wish they would skip all the stand-alone movies and just get to A2

Fury lied out his ass about everything concerning Coulson's "death", so-called.

Plus this is a comic book universe we are talking about here.

Coulson will be back...one way or another.

You do know that it's likely the Nick Fury Movie and the new Hulk reboot with Ruffalo will be BEFORE the events that happened in The Avengers right?

Of course he'll be in those. As for future movies I'm pretty sure he's diggity dead.

Best Superhero Movie of all time. It was equal parts action and comedy I think. Sometimes I didn't know if I should laugh or yell with awesomeness.

Joss Whedon is such an awesome director, he really knows how to make starring characters mesh well together. I enjoyed watching all the different heroes in discussion as much as the combat.

Just curious, do you have the link where you read this? A while ago they said they where done making Hulk movies. Plus a reboot wouldn't make sense really, the previous Hulk movies are tied in with the current Avengers story.

and once he came out, I really think Hulk stole the show.

It was mentioned in an interview somewhere, I'll have to go back and find it.

http://www.eonline.com/news/avengers_mark_ruffalo_signs_on_play/313478

He (and basically the rest of the cast) are all signed on for around 6 more movies (that includes stand-alones AND the avengers). So because it's already confirmed that some heroes will indeed get more stand alones and it won't be 6 more Avengers movies it's only logical to assume Hulk will get his own as well.

Although it may not be a "reboot" just a continuation of where they left off from The Avengers or something.

Also Samuel L Jackson is signed on for NINE movies total so far lol, thought I'd throw that one out there too (although he's already started those 9 as some of the movies that have already been made were included in it).

There are plenty of other villains to explore. Loki was fun, but he seemed like filler for something that was changed in the story.

I thought at some point Stark makes Jarvis into a legit robot or something along those lines. Could be totally wrong though lol.

And yea Hamma, nine movies lol. Although six MORE for Ruffalo and I don't think that counts The Avengers.

Disney did The Avengers, but they don't own the rights to X-Men/Spiderman and one or two others IIRC. I don't expect to see Spider-Man in the next avengers.
