I'm struggling to remember everyone I met back on Werner, although the memories I do have are brilliant.

Maybe because I'm no officially too old for video games, I cannot wait to get my grubby hands on this one.

Hopefully, another Werner type server for some of us oldies to maybe rekindle those hard fought relations with each other!

Yep spoke to a few people that will probably be returning for Planetside 2 (I definitely am), Trelawney should be coming back and others, might even start up The Vanu Generals again if we have enough of us ;)

Currently just waiting for Diablo III and Guild Wars 2 to keep me entertained until Planetside 2 is released !!!!

Hopefully will keep the name also, so any old Wernians out there, if you play Planetside 2 and see Thunderhawk death spam on your screens, its probably me being killed again ;)

I have to admit that there were quite a few VS players who were nice guys and good players, so I hope they don't make the same mistake twice and go purple again. I don't know what the future brings, but personally I'd really like to play together with some old 'foes' from VS and TR this time around.

Or maybe the world would end, if for example Longshanks joined the Mercenarys and played together with Braveheart .. I don't know.


I think I have forgotten most base names and quite a few other things about the first Planetside, but somehow I still remember hundreds of names of players who made an impression on me (whether good or bad) in the game so many years ago.

Aaaaah memories. Worked best against TR, outfit mates forcing MCGs and Dual Cyclers to go off gave a much more constant muffling sound than Comets, Quasars and Lashers. :)

Accurate thread title, a lot of old names.

The PS2 hype was too much that I've ended up back on PS1. Recognising a few names on there too, even the odd outfit. Pretty cool to see Renegade Legion still running around even if my own outfit is full of "Last Online 2000 days ago".

If we get more than one server for PS2 then hopefully most of Werner will be on the same one. See you there :)

I would have been in OdCuK Iron Fist Legion back on NC Werner as Redemption. OdCuK was the tag for over-clock.co.uk, a company that i think last time i checked has become victim to the economy these days! OdCuKHellRaizer was the outfit leader and I would have been 2nd after him.

The outfit eventually fell apart after some internal drama though :-/
There is still a group of about 6 of us that are still in contact these days but not in a clan setting.

I gave good old Planetside a try again today (last time I played was in 2007/2008). It was nice to see so many familiar names. The game itself was not so nice ... horrible lag, high ping, frequent crashes and incredible low FPS (Less than 20 FPS in combat? Really? The last time I played I had several hundred FPS ... seems like the switch from XP to Win7 makes all the difference). And man does it feel dated .. it's like a slap in your face going back to that after so many years.

That beeing said, it was still fun in strange way. :D I hope to see some more of you oldschoolers in the coming week.


PS.: Also what's up with this new SONY Launchpad? ... piece of garbage!

WinXP is a god send for PS but the whole OS switching etc isn't worth it.

As for what I've seen of PS2, looks a mixed bag. Some good, some dubious, but no Suppressors, shockingly poor form. :p

Happy to have found this place! My favorite online game of all time =) I used to play VS Werner with Purple Valor. We were part of the VS Werner Alliance back when things were very organized. Then moved on to Gemini with Outcasters (TR) on Euro times and Azure Twilight on NA times (VS) was also running with SRB (NC) when we had a thing gooing... which sure was brief period when I look back on things but still an awsome time.

Always been a driver and support/MAX guy at heart and that's still what I love ^^ So if you want to gun things you can always give me a poke, Im usually on TR but I like to help even out pops by playing the other empires aswell =)

last time i loged on PSwatever was in April 20 coz i has covid :((( but i got some true determination like i cant die here now.

the dev Nick may be busy, ... but i played 1 time in march 20, one time in may 20, & development was like STUCK lol, no changes for years....

so i hope he let the server ON for the HART song, but no hope in that project anymore.

@antiriadVS - You have no idea what you are talking about, the PSForever server uses the same values (for everything) from the latest PS1 game client. Regarding updates, the development team is still working on the project. The latest update was yesterday, according to the PSForever Github Repository.

Also, you were banned for coming into the Discord drunk spamming and harassing people almost daily.

server dev also banned lots of Planetside veterans suggesting changes, fans from 2003 to last day...

i dunno objective of PS-forever server. it's bugged, uncomplete....
