So how do you play your games?

I played Planetside for longer than any other game I've ever played. 6 months from the end of 2004 to mid-2005. Got drawn in by the idea of playing as a Max from some random advert, found a good outfit and had a great time. Best game I ever played, bar none. Nothing else comes even close. PS spoiled single player games for me as AI is just so dumb usually.

After 6 months it had got a bit "seen this already..." and the outfit had moved on to other games. No other game comes close in terms of longevity. Skyrim and Oblivion came closest at around 3 months. I tried BF:BC2 for a bit recently, but a month was all I could muster enthusiasm for.

Got less time to play now (life happens), but for PS2, I'm hoping the community (that's you!) and the depth of the cert tree will keep me going for 12 months or more. How long do you think you'll play PS2 for?

What would keep you coming back?

Oh, and I'm a serial monogamist, 6 months max!

I'm a polygamist boomerang depending on the game. some just piss me off and i say fuck it and let it be.

I have many unfinished games, I play them for a bit, have the desire to do something different or take a break, and then switch to something else. That said, I try to keep a small, quality selection rather than buying every new thing that comes out.

I almost never go back to subscription games once I'm done with them - because you feel like you have to put x amount of time into them to make them viable (even if in reality, you'd be okay with an hour a week or whatever). But I'm pretty much done with MMORPG because the format bores me these days, grind for power constantly or fall behind... No thanks!

That's why F2P is win for me - no barrier to re-entry, so after the initial burn out, I'll be able to come back without any reactivation or minimum time worries. And FPS makes for a better MMO because I can come back later and still kill people who never stopped playing, or be useful in the outfit because I didn't fall behind in power.

5min-years, depends on the game, though it its getting shorter as i get older, i think they;re loosing they;re appeal to me, they're just shit now or they're just nothing i like.

most recent game iv put any recent time into is work of tanks, which i estimate at about 27 days played based of 4k games played.
