Sounds like the team could do with some help finding all those annoying wee bugs:

https://twitter.com/#!/mhigby/status/199982082968133632

(Bug of the Day: attempting to throw grenade causes you to throw your assault rifle. Last resort attack when out of ammo? #TakeThat)

To the Devs:
We can help! Just give us access now and we'll whinge and complain endlessly at all the bugs we find.

Go on, you know you want to :doh::lol::lol:

Haha, that needs to be made a permanent addition to the game. Top tier cert only, of course. Only the best can throw their rifle at the enemy with such skill and accuracy.

Something like this ? I can see the NC doing stuff like this in the heat of battle. TR,not so much, and VS wouldn't want to damage thier shiny purple stuff, but NC,yea, we do whatever is needed to get the job done.

I love that game engines can support strangeness and have unpredicted effects even for the developers.

I remember back before Oblivion came out they were saying how they'd written an NPC AI and they literally had to leave PC's on running it to see what the characters did, because they had to clue.

Sadly, reminds me of that first dragon encounter on Skyrim, pressed the wrong button and threw my bow on the floor and spent the whole battle looking for it in the flora while the guards killed the dragon.

I think some bugs should be left in intentionally...don't even make it a cert option, just have it where if you run out of ammo there's a *chance* that continuing to fire will make you throw your rifle instead of just hearing *click*.

I always think some of the quirks we find in games are alot of fun.

I may be mistaken but wasn't skiing in Tribes unintended originally and just a quirk of the engine?

Other things I enjoyed were:

Wing walking in BF1942

Throwing nades at peoples feet on no friendlyfire BF42 servers, they go flying in the air and insta die on landing (sorry to anyone I did that to)

Juggling equipment in Tribes 2, constantly thowing all your equipment away and catching it again.

Using the MAV as lift in BF3 or as a flying C4 platform.

C4 Jeeps in all BFs

I'm sure theres loads more, thats all I can remember at the moment. Some of these bugs/quirks are good fun, some are just pure grief (still fun).

Hahahahhaha, that's awesome. If we can't be IN the testing process for the time being at least keep telling us the bug of the day!

Is it fair to speculate as to whether this means you're free to discard/drop your weapons on the battlefield?

I don't see how this is a bug.
Also: screenshots or it didn't happen.

Chuck a grenade in there!

THAT WAS YOUR GUN WTF ARE DOING!?

It's actually an experimental new TR "grenade."

You take a Cycler, tape down the trigger in full auto, then toss the gun spinning into a room filled with enemies.

Now they can spray&pray without actually having to hold the trigger down themselves!

Actually seeing footage of this bug would be at least be something new and different.
Make it a Vanu with a skirt that they lift above their head and run around in circles screaming after they've thrown the gun.

Sir, we do not wear skirts in the Vanu Sovereignty. We prefer futuristic skintight materials. Skintight materials and capes.

My guess would be that it's the NC throwing the guns, as some sort of new "experimental" attack.

That's what you guys have to resort to when your guns keep jamming. We told you guys, square bullets don't work, I don't care what your empires thematic shape is.

We did have a hilarious bug where a mosquito was doing ... *ahem* ... unusual things to a facility wall for a while. We had to put the mossy down, and the wall was irreparably scarred and ran away. Very fast. Up.

Physics bugs are the best bugs.

[ Pre alpha, btw ]

Wait, the WALL went very fast up.

Sounds more like a feature than a bug =P

I fucking love bugs like that, and I intend to find as many of them as I can once I get into beta (I'm sure most of the funnest ones will be sorted out, but I'm good at finding them).

I may have to keep a few of the funnest ones to myself for personal entertainment though ;)

I have natural talent for finding the weirdest of bugs. Playing Vigilante 8 again the other day, when my truck got hooked on the Ski lift, I got flung way up and outside the map and got stuck there for ages. I recalled exactly what I was doing before it happened and I can replicate it perfectly.

SOE would be wise to let me in beta

Dude, Vigilante 8 2nd offense. I have so many fantastic memories of glitching it up in that game. Figuring out how to leave the map entirely and drive off into the vast glitchy unknown was a highlight for me.

That would make me watch the credits of a game. Usually skip those.
