What are you exact needs with the laptop?

EDIT: Ok I thought you made a thread before. Seeing as how you maybe going all over due to being in the military this would probably be a good hold me over till you finally settle in one place. Once you do so you can build a whole new rig then.

Yah, I am in a TDA unit at the moment, so non-deployable, but I do tune cars... I think my current Toshiba X205 was a pretty good laptop for gaming, and is the same size as the ASUS.

I have two of these, actually i have a G-73 and a G-74 and both run flawlessly anything you throw at them (although i did have to add throttleStop to the G74 to unlock the powersaving and let it scream)

but they are a true desktop replacement IMO. I'm very happy with my Geforce 560m with 2 gig of ddr5 ram. The cooling on the back takes care of everything nicely with two HUGE intake/outgoing vents and it's never choked even at some of the highest settings.

I got the G74 quadcore I7 terabyte hard drive for 1066 and when you look at ANY other gaming laptop out there you can't get anything that can do what this does for under 1500. Sure you can get an HP maybe with an ATI mobile in it, but this was built from the ground up to do this at a good price.

Five star, total five star all the way, im thinking about getting a THIRD one for God's sake to keep at my other house. It's that good.

hope that helps

What the hell is the point of having a gaming laptop if you aren't taking it places?
Portability is the only up-side.
