PTO stands for Parent-Teacher Organization. It's a way for parents to get involved in their kids's school and to volunteer with events and such. Also, usually the first place people get complaints from.

A better interpretation seems to be that Higby's team was (trying) to play Diablo 3 late at night and is now sending in emails asking for unscheduled PTO.

Just me being too twitchy is all.

PTO stands for Power Take-off. Its a drive shaft extending from the back of a tractor that you can connect to farm equipment, such as augers, bailers, mowers, etc, to power them.
