Is this the 3d model or 3d concept art?

Looks probably too detailed for conceptual work, I just thought I'd ask due to the odd angle of the pictures.

Either way, lovely work yet again.

This is exactly what I always wished for in Star Wars Galaxies... you are an artist, my friend. Thank you!

I was showing my wife PS2 earlier today, telling her that it's just the look and feel I have always wanted for a game. She (being totally uninterested in games) thought that the game looks great, realistic yet futuristic, yet familiar.

I have to say that these cockpit designs exceed all of my expectations, Redrum.

Hm. that cockpit is just missing an interactive mp3 player on one of the displays.

VS could play this on the ship's intercom:
Orinoco Flow (Sail Away) - Enya (with lyrics) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zkjQVh5KmQ)

uhh... not sure if I should admit that I like that song... lol

This game is looking more and more stunningly beautiful. I believe it was T-Ray who said, "a common statement nowadays is 'the game looks good... for an MMO,' we want to remove that qualifier from the end of their sentence."

You guys are absolutely making good on his promise.

Honestly, the only negative about the game's graphics is not HOW things are made in the graphics engine, but WHAT they have chosen to make.

Landscapes look great, but the bases, at least the one we saw, is typical sci-fi fare out in the desert. The base looks like a bunch of huge futuristic cargo containers scattered in the middle of nowhere. Roads would be a great start to making it look right. I mean, surely at some point after they colonized Auraxis but before they started fighting, they must have built roads? Maybe even...not a city, but residential settlements?

I have wondered where all the civilians live and where the infrastructure is, unless the war started before anything major started. And maybe they didn't need roads because everything was teleported or airlifted to places, but i would like to see roads and more civilian style areas. That is what 1 of the continents will hopefully be, all urbanised.

How will the passengers know they are upside down? Because the inside will look the same to them and the only way you know you are upside down is to feel the inertia, but since its a video game we can't feel that. Unless we all fall out of our seats and rag doll on the roof. That would be hilarious.

Presumably passengers will get third person and/or a camera to look outside with.

Staring at the inside of a small dropship bay isn't quite as much fun as it sounds ;)

Although if we were ragdolling around inside it, that would never get old.

Looks awesome! I wonder if were riding in it as passengers will we also get an interior? That would be sweet. You could maybe have little goggles you can pull down which gives you a camera view looking out underneath the Galaxy so you could see where you wanted to drop. And let the pilot signal when its time to drop by activating like a red warning light in the passenger area.

Not unless you get a little hologram of a map the commander has and can plan routes of attack and stuff while you approach the battlefield/dropzone. That is probably the best time to plan your assault. And would look awesome looking at a map and seeing your commander putting up waypoints and saying "But sir, this way is better, there is a tree." Then he replies. "Hmm, i do like trees. ok lets go here." That is why we need an inside view of a map. :D

I don't know if this has been mentioned but other then the rudder pedals the galaxy seems to have a disturbing lack of any sort of pitch or roll control, is there a side stick tucked away in the corner that is cut off by the camera angle?

Just realised, it needs wing mirrors for those of us with Clegg-like abilities to land in tight spots. Does the Gal have a reversing sensor/camera?

Yeah, some gritty worn-out old hab-blocks (urban zones) in the desert would make for a nice setting for some tighter combat.

Or perhaps something reminiscent of the outskirts of 1942's Berlin map.

THIS!

Only it'd never fly in release... Soooo... Do it for all passenger vehicles/aircraft for the week of April first, then sell it on a per vehicle basis in the cash shop, to the passengers.

It'd be like printing money!

And once all the pilots are rag dolling around, fly straight up and open the back door, imagine all the funny videos.
Pilot. "Ok everyone drop!" *Flies straight up and opens back door"
*Everyone falls into a crumpled heat on the ground in the middle of an enemy base*

Pilot: "Oh, sorry guys, i thought we were low enough for that to work. "

Does the Gal have a reversing sensor/camera?Unless I'm very much mistaken there's going to be freelook in the cockpit. And there's third person view as well. You won't have a UI, but at least you'll be able to see whether you're about to clip a tree with the tail.

Er.. how is this thing steered? There is no control column, unless you don't see it when in first person view.
