I want to see them dig up that old Planetside neon sign they used at E3 in 2002 and hang it somewhere in the booth. :cool:

Do you think they will show this game at the Sony Press Conference? I mean this game can only be successful with popularity.

This is the only thing I want to see instead of a beta date or the whole idea of a select amount of people being selected to fight on stage to show numbers.

What else does Sony have to show? EQ Next maybe, some PS3 sequels...I think PlanetSide will be the big demo of their conference...I hope!

Since Sony and SOE are two separate corporate entities, I don't think they have any crossover at these events. Sony will be doing it's thing and SOE will be doing it's own thing.

I looked at SOE's space on the show floor. It isn't much. I have no clue how they are going to show off the game or make it steal the show.

i think the beta its still a little far down the road, when totalbiscuit was tweeting about AFTER E3 he wants to resub PS1 for fun, i think he knows at least another month before we see anything confirmed, otherwise why bother resubbing if the beta will come right after E3, i just hope we can hear a more concrete date as of where the beta will start, rather than " soon ... "

As TB said in this video around 2:25 that everyone who has liked his videos he had been putting out all week had something exciting coming up at E3...So he had been doing a lot of PS2 videos so I would not be totally shocked if they announced beta at E3 and I can't imagine that TB played the current version of the game. I'm assuming he played 2 or 3 versions back,because some of the explosions displayed in TBs' video were a lot more crisp in the video that SOE put up. Everything is kind of pointed in the direction of a closed beta sometime in the very near future(weeks to a month).

My wish is to see PS2 the hit of the show. The only way to do this is to have the game freely playable on a lan. Would not hurt to announce beta and to openly release a bunch of videos in the press kit.

I think we are now pretty much at the point where if there are going to be demo videos they are either going to be 'how to' tutorial types or full on gameplay involving a lot more people.

Massive battles of as many kinds as possible (tanks, infantry, MAXes, etc),
Fighting and/or gameplay footage on one of those awesome bridges.
And of course the beta announcement, although I'm trying to keep my expectations low on that one.

I'd like to know when beta starts of course, and I'd like to hear more about their "3 year plan" as they called it. I'm pretty sure we first heard about said 3 year plan a year ago when PS2 was officially unveiled to the world.

Now I'm hoping said "3 year plan" wasn't referring to the time it would take to get beta ready =P

I realize not everything would be set in stone for the next 3 years but I'd like to know just in general what they have planned and maybe what periods of time we would expect to see updates, maybe even a glimpse of what those update ideas might be.

Beta of course like everyone else.

I would like to see a military parade done in game. Video of them running by with every vehicle, MAX, Tank, soldier, ect.

More Empire weapons are always welcomed.

It's going to be two parts. Part 1 with Jon Weathers is about 20 minutes and I will release it this afternoon CDT.

Part 2 is about 40 minutes long with Higby - I'm probably not going to release that one till late tomorrow as I will not be around tomorrow afternoon if something on PSU breaks ;)

Well I had an email announcing something called Bullet Run was about to enter Beta so sign ups have begun.
But my guess is they will want all attention focused on the tri-faction, epic-looking AAA mutha.

I bet all you guys need some sleep and rest. Except Higby. He always looks charged and energetic and talks REAL fast when explaining Planetside. Like he wants to get back to work and play it and will mow down anything between him and the game.

My hope is that they live demo really comes through and gets put up on massive screens for everyone to see (no pressure guys) I'm convinced that anyone who sees what planetside can do, without even knowing any other specifics, will be curious and intrigued, at least to ask the guy next to them "What IS that?" Like the airstrike trailer we saw recently, Planetside is at its best when it simply shows things people never expect to see in a game. I'd love to see a massive tank battle, or an infantry charge. Something that really flexes the games muscles and gets everyone's attention.

On top of that, I'd really like to see more information on the strategic/logistical side of the game in interviews and such: resources, capture points, etc. Even if its not really complete, I really just want to get an idea on how the devs are really trying to get beyond base fights.

I really wish I could be there, but alas...

Definitely there should be an orchestrated gameplay in the "official" show off. For example a siege of a base from air & land. Not simple pub gaming, we're talking for a Expo afterall.

I would say this would be the case for any other genre of game out there that has revealed this amount of information.

But, there are still so many gamers out there who have no clue about the game and even some that do know about it do not understand the business model or understand the gameplay aspects.

Another game during E3 might release a beta date to draw gaming website people in to talk about the game. For Planetside 2 all they need to do is get the basics of it out there and they will have everyone drooling over Higby asking questions.
