Do you see it happening in PS2 and has it ever happened in PS1?

It's quite clear that under the normal circumstances animosity/competition among Empires is quite high and will be preventing this. Also it quite natural that when one Empire get stronger it will have to fight the other two more often... but I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about organized coordinated inter-imperial actions against the common foe. Has it ever happened? How far this kind of cooperation could go? Do you ever see a possibility of temporary formation of mixed Outfits?

Since it is easily predicted that kicking one Empire almost entirely out of Indar map will be quite hard perhaps even impossible because of third Empire factor could we see one of those rare situations when 2 Empires make a sinister plot to join forces and split the third apart just for fun of it? I'm very curious about this prospect.

The lack of unified/universally recognized overall command makes it impossible to have an empire-wide ceasefire with another one.

There have been times when two empires primarily picked on another though and sometimes people do coordinate with members of other empires but usually very few and very rarely.

Often times it has FELT like two other empires would just team up against your own.

Outfits within an Empire working together is very common though.

this has been done on Markov a few different times between all three empires

Personally I don't think that such a thing makes sense with only 3 empires. Maybe with 5!

I remember the "bending" event cease-fire (the event that turned Auraxis into different planets) that was arranged by the 3 empires on Werner.

We sat around all together to watch the meteorites come down.......... for a minute? All it took was one person with an itchy finger.

I'm proud to say the glorious New conglomerate "won" the truce that day, go NC!

yea you can do it on small scale, PCP and FC would sometimes team up against NC, the problem is though you cant stop the randoms. But certainly major outfits and empire commanders can coordinate with each other to double team an empire on 2 different flanks. this im certain we will see.

the NC and TR conspired to doubleteam the VS off Cyssor during the first year or so on Markov and I know the TR and VS doubleteamed the NC during one of the mono events, you can go back and read the old forums and find the threads where is was negotiated, I know when it was the NC, it was usually Pig or I that would run that sort of thing,I had enough CR5's in the toon to flood /comall to make it work.

I can see it happening in PS2,it is going to depend on which server ppl decide to play on.

I loved seeing this happen in PS1 - the problem was/is that one of the factions is going to backstab the other, it just happens like that every time.

Outfits working together, especially on a large scale has definitely happened before. The NC on Emerald had a large group of them called the NCA back in 04.

2 empires ganging up on one? That's happened but it's never 100% planned it just kinda...happens.

Outfits on opposing empires occasionally organize private events. Sometimes it involves competition, sometimes cooperation - you might rarely see NC and TR outfits working together to hold a VS generator for example.

I don't think the zerg would follow orders for a total cease fire against one side.

There was an actual, 90% enforced, alliance on Emerald between NC and TR (let's call it the bullet shooting alliance), this occurred when BFRs came out.. The Vanu had won some event to get BFRs two weeks early, so you can imagine the OP their faction had (there were also rumors they found ways to beyond the player cap on continents in order to win).

So for TWO WHOLE WEEKS, NC and TR had a truce that was upheld by 90% of players. During this time, I scored one of the early BFRs, and I needed that 100 unique kill thing to get the 2 person variant, so I "accidentally" stepped on TR soldiers on occasion. I felt bad about it... but I REALLY needed those kills....

Yeah this is pretty exceptional circumstances though, as the BFR requirements were so amazingly stupid that they basically forced players to either endure a ton of grinding in the shitty caves in order to see the new vehicles, or people stop fighting for the most part and just crank out the caps.

I guess it's possible it might happen, but I'd hope they'll have enough of an incentive to prevent serious population imbalances to make this kind of thing unnecessary.

you would have got the BFR's faster without the truce, i took a skeeter to the caves, got my 100, got my BFR, farmed up more kills...then went back to the caves with my flight variant...I didn't go well for the NC and TR :O

If their ever is a truce, I will be the first one to backstap the enemy.....create chaos....Have my own empire tell me shit for not following the "rules"....and proceed to team kill my team for being traitors.

But thats just me.
