Do we know if there are plans to implement rag dolls in the game. I can't think of very many things more satisfying than blasting my enemies corpses over the base walls with a tank. Also the idea of sniping a jet packing light assault, and watching his body crash into the ground is just amazing.

Problem becomes from rezzing. Cos the corpse pretty much has to be in the same place for everyone for ressing to be possible, that sorta means ragdoll needs to be somewhat handled by server.
It MIGHT strain it too much.

I think there is. We have vehicles break apart and useable as cover once they are destroyed, player probably rag doll when shot. Take a look at the videos and find out for yourself, there is a ton out there, it might already be in.

In the GDC videos from March, it wasn't in yet. I think I remember people just falling over in a death animation after being shot by tanks. That being said, it may be on the to do list.

if they got the death animations, i am personally okay with that. i dont want the whole ragdoll physics. thats just 1 more thing that the engine has to do and i dont want that to take away from the gameplay.

It was kind of odd how the player collapsed after eating an explosion, but I agree. The server will probably have enough to worry about without the ragdoll physics of a thousand players.

Yeah, ragdolls are pretty dang low on my list of priorities. I'd rather see weapon holstering or any number of other things.

Ragdolls are already in and this has been confirmed by the devs. You can see it in a few of the released videos.

Old news, dem ragdolls. Absolutely no need for them imo if not having them cuts down the lag.. It would be nice to have them, sure.

Just found a good example of the ragdoll, check out 1:39 in RedKnights' video. The player shoots an NC HA in the face and his upper torso is thrown backward by the impact:

That looked like a cut-and-dry death animation to me.

I think that was a death animation rather than a ragdoll. From what I have seen, every infantry death uses more or less that animation.
Edit: The view isn't good enough to tell for sure, but I think the LA at 3:20 uses the same death animation but employs ragdoll physics afterwards as it is falling. From what I could see, I thought that animation looked more fluid than I would expect from a ragdoll free mid-air animation. Could just be the camerawork playing tricks on me though. As far as I'm aware there isn't a way to decently animate falling bodies without a ragdoll system. Either way, the more extravagant flying corpses that the OP is asking about don't appear to be in game.

i wonder if ragdolls will allow us to shoot allies into cover so they can be rezed

they said previously that they would take speed over pretty all day so Im sure if it is creating a performance problem they wont use it.

No need to guess about it, Hamma's played the game and he already said there's ragdoll:
There are ragdoll physics in the game.

As long as there is nothing too ridiculous, I'm happy.
Which is to say that corpse will be liquified or shredded when hit by heavier munitions, not just thrown 50 ft.

That quote from me was last year at Fan Faire hadn't played the game yet. I didn't notice much ragdoll when playing but they have said it will be in.

I would guess that they may end up doing a mix between ragdoll and death animations, along with locking a dead body in place once it has come to rest. The need to be able to revive a player means that we can't have them getting pushed too far out of the way into impossible to reach locations, although that doesn't mean there can't be a little movement right after they were killed from an explosion or a roadkill.

I love gibbing, but in a game where you need to be able to revive players (and keep a T rating), I highly doubt they will be in.

I'm 100% sure that Higby said ragdolls were going to be added.
