The sounds of everyone here crying in despair, for we shall NOT be having beta in time for E3, as per what TB stated in his video.

And I was just getting my hopes up due to the increasing frequency of twitter posts hinting at beta.

E3 beta announcement could bring publicity. Announcing/releasing beta beforehand would undermine some of the spotlight that they need.

Makes sense. I was hoping they'd do a closed Beta for E3 to preserve the spotlight though. Open beta for maybe a few weeks later.

edit: closed beta for us that is, obviously they already have the internal servers up

It's going to be at least another year before open beta.

Definitely not a YEAR. They have the servers up and everything. Just have to stress test the game, as well as finish up the other two continents. Balancing and such can come in beta. I'd give it a month till closed beta. Few months till open beta. Launch this winter.

I think he said he would be putting out a lot of videos in the next few months leading up to release, or something like that, maybe he was referring to open beta? If thats the case it may well be atleast 3-4 months until open beta.

Open beta won't happen until the game is pretty much done, as is usually the case with MMOs anyway. And there are still in-game systems that haven't been implemented yet, yet alone tested and balanced. I've been guessing closed beta announcement at E3, and then possibly open beta at the end of the year. But I wouldn't be surprised if that slips to next year. It's the nature of the beast.
