vcore voltage warning when overclocking

So I just installed an H100 onto my new rig running the 2600K and sabertooth Z77. With the multiplier ramped up to 4.8ghz I'm getting a message from the asus software saying "warning vcore 1.57v. Running prime 95, all temps are still in the green with the cpue not exceeding 52c and vcore in the mid 60's at full load. What am I doing wrong here?

You should not be running 1.57V through a 2600K is the problem. I would do 1.45 V at most. Get that voltage down now.

I've clocked down to 4.5ghz, and the CPU voltage is now at 1.36v. Just kind of frustrated that I seem to be hitting a wall here. Is the 2600k not capable of a 4.8ghz OC? My temps aren't even breaking 40c at this speed.

Every chip has its own limit. My 2500K maxes out at 4.8 GHz with 1.45V. Just try upping the multi, if it fails up the voltage in small increments until its stable then keep going up to at most 1.45V imo anyway.

Looks like 4.6 is as high as I can go. :( Glad I didn't buy aftermarket fans.

Is that at 1.45 V? Its not worth killing the chip for 200MHz.

1.41v, shoots up to 1.46v at 4.7ghz. Guess the H100 is overkill. Oh well, at least I can turn down the fan speeds.

You should be able to set voltage and the multiplier separately. I'm kind of confused as to why things are "shooting up".

I can set the cpu voltage in the bios and in the AI software, but it seems to always readjust itself based on what the multiplier is set to.

edit: setting the cpu voltage to manual mode instead of offset allows me to set a lower voltage with the multiplier, but this causes the system to blue screen on start up.
