Well, Purple and Cyan aren't really the best two colors that go together with others. Hell, they barely match by themselves. And you can't lose the faction colors. That is a no-no.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I like the direction of where the customization is going. I know A LOT of you will not agree with this, but I think this goes a bit too far. I'm NOT looking for a hardcore, 100% serious game at all. I'm alright with silliness as long as it fits in with the style of the game.

For instance, I'd gladly buy customization for vehicles if they had things like this. Obviously not verbatim, since some things won't work (the "Easter egg" bombs, for example) but just the general concept of it. Silliness that can fit into the art style of the game.:

Things like that would add to the immersion as opposed to having leopards or zebra skins all over the place. Things don't have to be 100% serious, yes, I wholeheartedly agree. But silliness doesn't have to contradict the style of the game.

And if animal skins and the like must be done, it would definitely be easier to swallow if they were in faction colors. Personally, I'd love a black and red Terran zebra skin on my Galaxy.

Firstly, that's often near meaningless in Planetside. Secondly, they are testing the game. He may be taking some potshots at other testers, but be falling to his death, getting run over, blowing himself up, etc. with greater frequency.

He could just be terribad as well, but he's VS not NC, so I doubt it. ;)

Goofy color scheme aside, the VS MAX is looking better than ever to me in that picture. Imagining it in more normal color schemes, I'm really liking it's form here more than I have in some previous screen shots. I think it will look good once it has proper animations in.

I guess, but how exactly do you make a desert camouflage pattern look good alongside big areas of purple and teal? It's jarring. The colours don't mix. You can't just juxtapose realistic camouflage schemes, or weird stuff like in the OP, alongside such bold colours as blue, red, or purple. But if you remove the empire-specific colours, then friend-foe recognition takes a hit and stuff gets more confusing for everyone.

Unless they plan to redo all of these custom cam jobs so that they use only the empire colours and therefore blend with the underlying paint schemes I can't imagine them ever looking good. Literally every single custom paint job I've seen has looked hokey and just plain ugly.
