Well according to the live stream grenades will cost resources.
During that stream though, I saw the ability to have a grenade launcher under your rifle as a customization.
Do the grenade launcher rounds cost resources?

Anyway, yeah I kinda figured it wouldn't be, but if you are wanting to make it so people don't spam AOE, as Higby alluded to then you may want them to.
If they are free it would make them rather alluring over something else.
I also wondered if I took a frag with me on spawn if I lose it on death. Of course the cost may be negligible enough that you wouldn't care.

Back on topic - yea now that you put it that way I agree they should cost resources so we don't have people "noob tubing" all day

I think any form of AOE damage should be bought through recources. Either go to a terminal to buy or someone has to buy a resupply crate (with resources) to then refill them. Either way resources were used to create them.
Its no different than getting a tank, you pay for tank and full ammo. So in a way you purchased the ammo with resources. I agree, it does help stop spamming because then you less willing just to fire them off. You cant just scream at a guy for an ammo pack when they only supply magazines.

Well I guess it may not be that much different then someone using a lot of heavy rocket launcher stuff. With reload time. I guess the grenade is going to take a small slot up instead of a main weapon option. Will be interesting to see how it works out.

My guess would be that the underslung grenade launcher attachment would be free (maybe even with a single free grenade per life), but that extra grenades would cost resources.
Wild speculation on my part though.
