View Full Version : Think they should add in a few bots to the E3 test?

I mean they DO have the capability to add in bots, and the whole purpose of it is to show off the massiveness.
What if, alongside the 100+ SOE employees, they add in say another 100 bots? Just to show off the scale? I doubt the reviewers will say "Bots were at points glitchy and also very easy to beat, bad game!" because I'm sure Higby will beat into them before they play that it'll be a 100% PvP game, and obviously it's an alpha build.

I don't think it would be good to have bots run into a corner...
BEETA and we'll populate it just fine ;D

Also you overestimate the masses, they won't understand that those where bots or that they won't be in the game

I think when they mean bots they mean static characters that can "be in the world" taking up server assets and taxing the engine like a real player but not bots with AI that can fight. It would look horrible for testers and onlookers to see tons of Bot characters standing around whats the point?

If you look at the older videos you can see the bots actively shooting, capturing points, flying airplanes, shooting each other, even killed TB a few times.

They never said those were bots in fact i'm quite sure those are players. I do remember them talking about other people in the studio being in the game.

If the bots are that good than are they thinking of letting people get certificates to buy a bot or two? I could totally see that being a thing. Even if the AI is only good enough to tell them to follow and attack your targets or fire at will than I can still see it being a really fun class.

I never found bots in online playing to be a wise decission...
For E3 they really should try to get as many SOE employees into the game as possible. So that Higby can boldly say "Everyone you see here is a player" and everyone goes like
