I couldn't help but notice that while flying about in the Reaver in the TB/Higby commentary video, that the reticle moved wherever he looked. Does this imply that a weapons pod will be aimed as such when flying a gunship? If so, that's pretty damn awesome!

I hope not, people would find it too easy to just circle strafe and rain rockets down on a base from a large height..
Front mounted targeting makes the flight combat more interesting.

i dont think so as i think the weapons are fixed on the reaver and the rest of the fighters. modern aircraft of today like the eurofighter have these hud's in the helmet. they are good for giving info no matter where you look. the gunships however i cant say as i havent seen much of these.
the hud in the helm is also good for targeting ect. will be good to see more vids of this in action

My initial response was, that's awesome.
But I think it was a free look kind of thing. The cross hairs always returned to the same point in front and I think it did so when he released the free mouse look.
My guess is the HUD stays with you so you have some clue about your orientation and height while looking around.

I dont think it will be for actually using weapons. But i do think it would be nice if say it had a pitch indicator. So then when i am flying i dont all of a sudden hit the ground.
Edit: Darn it Blackwolf, you beat me lol

I would think it would be in as the Apache and Cobra have it. If they have it the military today I would think they would have it hundreds of years in the future.

I hope it works like it looks. A couple of aircraft have their weapons mounted on turrets, not fixed in the wing with the exception of missile pods.
And why not?
Do you honestly think it would be simple to fly at 300 mph whilst adjusting hight, trim, roll and yaw all the while firing at various targets on the ground and NOT see where you are flying?

one problem is these are jets not helo's. as far as all the vids and info iv seen all the light jets have fixed weapon systems. the gal gunships ect may have Apache like weapon systems. not really seen the weapons in action on the gunships.
if they are like jets of today they will be great.

Higby mentioned freelook would be added.
So yes, yes and yes to a rotating HUD. No to turrets on Reavers/Mossies/Scythes, PERHAPS Liberators.
