I like this entire dev team
I am gonna spend some money on this game just to support these guys.
i have been gaming since 1980 friggin 2.. and I have played almost everything when it comes to shooters... and I have never seen a better more kool and open dev team before.
these guys are the exact opposite of the idiots over at dice and other places.
this is the kind of dev team players should support with their wallets even with the game being f2p these guys deserve some recognition for being different than 90% of the devs out there.

DICE is NOT Full of idiots... For fuck's sake, everyone shut their mouths and act your age. Keep those ridiculous comments to yourselves. Say that DICE is disappointing, or that you don't like their attitude, but they are NOT IDIOTS.
Anyway... XD Matt Higby

sorry your butt hurt over it but the guys left are idiots. When a developer blatenly lies to it's core fans they get called whatever it's fair game get over it.
Same guys who said" modding is a declining and dead trend" but yet Skyrim and Arma 2 Day Z mod just blew open sales doors like crazy.
Most of the good guys over there left when they saw it was going downhill fast
Anyways back to Planetside 2 Some very good open and solid devs.

You gotta love a lead designer who not only listens to fans, but listens period.
The bad designers are the ones that never listen. You can have a bad designer who still listens and is humble enough to listen to his development team, and he'll get better. One day, he's the guy who's gonna lead his team to release a best-selling game because he's made his mistakes, learned his lessons and listened to his team. They don't take every suggestion from the team, but they listen to each one and consider it on its merits.
It reminds me of some editing advice I heard a long time ago that's rung true in most every writing project I've ever been involved in: when someone suggests you change something, they're right in that it needs to change, but they're not necessarily right about how to change it.
In other words, if you find yourself nodding your head at their suggestion and maybe smiling evilly, you can take that suggestion and use it wholesale, but if the suggestion feels wrong, then don't use it, fix it another way. I went against that advice once and then hit a creative wall that stalled me for weeks, but I found the changes came easier when a better suggestion came along...and I smiled and laughed evilly at this suggestion, knowing that it was what the scene needed (and it was also really, really fun). And it was the right way to end the scene too!
So I suppose what I'm trying to say is, I'm really impressed with Higby. He's the kinda guy who listens to people. He doesn't have all the answers, but he knows what one looks like when he sees it.

Haha it must be a real pain in the anus to be a game designer though... I mean, they have to deal with us ALL the time. If a game designer doesn't listen to the fans, they get strung up for being ignorant and useless... and if they do listen, they get strung up for being incompitent and an idiot.... just look at Diablo 3 now. It has problems, sure, like all games have, 1-2 weeks after release. But people whined like crazy in D2 that unique items were too powerful, and they wanted rare drops with better stats, but harder to find. D3 delivers, and now they scream like pigs that rare drops are more powerful than set and legendary drops. That's just one example... there's dozens of other things people moan and cry about and blame the developers for.
And I bet it's basically them same with every game that gets released.... has to be really hard to hear hundreds of people all screaming that you're an idiot and that the game you worked on for years is broken and is crap and whatnot. So thanks to all lead designers, and indeed all developers for that matter, for sticking with it... even though many of us are ungreatful little shits sometimes ^^

I've heard in one of their webcasts that there most likely will be a sub option, details of the privileges are unknown. I'm practically subbed the day PS2 releases, even tho I haven't touched PS1 at all in my life. The footage that is available and the impression I get about the dev team is more than enough to justify this decision.

ok, everybody who goes to e3 take your scissors with you and CUT THAT HAIR ALREADY! then they would have to start the beta invites! ;)
and yes, this is the best dev team ever! that´s why i stocked up on station cash already. to be sure i pay to the devs and not only to pro7sat1. because pro7sat1 yet has to prove if they are worth any money.

In oklahoma being ultra cleancut is good for business. I couldnt tell you how personal grooming is perceived around the rest of the country. IMHO Higby needs a shave and a haircut.

Fanglord, http://www.planetside2.com/ to sign up for beta...
Methinks Higby is going to be wearing a custom made PS2 helmet to E3 to protect the sacred pre-beta hair length after reading this thread.... :P

sign up for beta on planetside2.com and/or get yourself a copy of the uk pc gamer or an older issue of the us pc gamer with beta key inside!
the magazine keys give beta priority (like ps1 vets have), just signing up for beta gives access when the priorities are all in and more are needed.
Find his dad, get him to tell Matt that he looks like a hippy and to cut his hair.
OT:
You'd think that the social media team would have some sort of knowledge about important PS-related twitter accounts. Or at least the twitter accounts run by devs, for retweeting purposes. And yea, Higby and TRay are two cool cats. ;)
