What would you be satisfied with in Beta?

Despite the fact that Betas are often not supposed to be indicative of the game in a finished state, and that by NDA people are not supposed to discuss it...it seems inevitable that a rough beta will cause negative ripples throughout the net, negatively impacting the game.

That being said, take a moment to wrestle with the hype of the game and get a clear thought on the subject: What would you be satisfied with to start?

This isn't about what you want, but the bare minimum you would accept.

I don't think I'm entitled to anything (aside from my priority access :P) in the beta, so don't take this as "GAEM MUST HAVE DIS!". Just curious on how much people will settle for.

i would hope the server runs more or less stable and doesn´t crash every 5 minutes.

everything else is up for testing and work in progress. so i would be satisfied if the devs keep listening like they did so far! no matter how the game looks when beta starts!

edit: if i get that unique planetside feeling of epicness and pure awesome, i am pleased.

As long as the servers are up most of the time, i'd play anything.

anything tbh. beta is beta. aslong as we get in to help stomp out the bugs id be happy. alot of betas these days arnt betas at all and people complain when a fault happens.

i did Alpha and beta testing on battlefield 3, which had problems but i didnt mind. i did what i was there for and reported them, but alot of people clogged up the forums which threads complaining.
i have beta tested alot of games and most of them these days are just early start things to get the hype going. that is why im happy with Guild wars 2 atm. they are proper beta with bugs. though they are quick and very good at fixing stuff fast.
i hope planetside 2 will be same, id say there is enough of us on here that love the game and would happily sit here testing and trying to break it to make the game the best it can be.

Really I would just be satisfied with a Beta release in its current form, I'm that desperate to play, but Ideally the game would be mostly intact with at least a good chunk of a continent available for play. But this is one of those things you can't know without experience in the field, that's just what I feel would be most effective as a player.

on the poll:

no idea! it´s completely up to the devs and i would accept any of those options.

but for a mmo i would think at least one cont should be completely finished to be able to gather valid combat-movement-data right from the start.
and when the balancing starts, all major weaponsystems should be in as well. not necessarily on the beta start, but for open beta.

To me it appears to be ready for a beta stage and I'm sure everyone is eager to get in and catch some bugs and give feedback.

i would even have been happy with alpha access without any weapons, just being able to walk around the beautiful bases of indar right during their construction ;), watching the amazing sunsets!

I agree with most here, I'll be happy just to play. And I hope it is a true beta like RSphil said so we can try to break it and really make it great when its released.

I'd be happy with one continent with all classes, most of the weapons and abilities. And all vehicles.

As long as I'm in. What I got from the dual cast with TB and Higby is a lot of the stuff in needs testing with hundreds+ players to see if it works or not.

If it is a open play beta then I believe we would expect the same with any open play beta, a few maps with all weapons and vehicles avlable.

Otherwise I expect to see what is in alpha right now and go on from there.
