I'd appreciate it if you guys checked it out. My coworker who freelances in the gaming industry wanted a video to carry around with him at E3, because he was tired of explaining PS2. (he is also going to be at the booth for a day, so help me out in saying !@#$!%!@#$#! you buddy.)

I am going to do an homage video similar to previous great works on this forum, but I wanted to keep it to 6ish minutes. I'm as up to date as I could be.

Oh, and it's the second video I've ever made, and the first was a family one. So, be gentle.

The video has Muse...thats pretty much an auto-win right there. Anyway, the compilation itself was pretty solid and watchable, nice job.

I haven't heard that song since the wife and I played Guitar Hero. Quite refreshing!

I agree. Thanks for doing what you could with that footage with color correction, I figured it'd be ok as long as I left your watermark on it. I appreciate it!

What would have made it better? Criticism is very welcome.

More footage that you don't (nor any of us for that matter) have access to because we can't play it yet.

The footage is rather meh after seeing it so many times (nothing can be done about that until beta), some of the clips seemed glitchier than the source (ie some were really blurry), and the song was just bleh. Anyway, my overall apathy towards it is most likely due to seeing the same footage 15 times in a row, but again nothing can be done about that.

I don't understand why you would post about this unless you had something good to say... whats the point of posting just to critisize someone who is just trying to be helpful and have some fun? Pretty cool video I though you did a good job if this is your second effort!!! :)

Thanks man, I will be using most of this tonight to add to a PS1/PS2 video.

Well cut and matched the pace of the music, great work and good song choice.

A few things I think could enhance the finale. (Advice, as ever, is optional)

If you work in one of the death scenes on that Amp Station attack (16:26 of the 34 min GDC footage) then it will better prepare people for the realities of Planetside especially with that drop-pod into supersoldier scene right afterwards.
It is an MMOFPS, ppl will die. Yet sometimes that death can lead to moments of awesome.

Swap the lighting driving and reaver flare scene 3:26-3:33 (magider and lightning, to lightning to HA troop shooting at reaver as track lines up for "fight to survive").

I think you could cut the "running to the prowler and shooting the magrider" footage at 3:32-3:41 to leave room for one of the following.

I'm unsure of best fit. (sort of leaning towards the second option)
Either
Move the part up to where the lib is flying into a valley forward over the prowler footage. Transition into a scene where he gets gunned down by a TR soldier, then carry on with the drop-pod and attack scene. with the same timing .
Or
Do the death scene instead of the prowler bit, use the multi-vehicle flicker as a flashback (white/grey fogged screen-edge) then go into the drop-pod build-up.

That epilogue magrider shot against the reaver could do with a simple slow motion zoom & camera pan, double the replay (1 at normal speed second at 1/5? speed).
The wiggle and spin is nausiating the industrial-techno is fine. (That last 25 seconds does not fit with the other 5:55 minutes of well made footage).

Was about to say you missed the best kill, but then the last 15 or so seconds played out. Best part. :]

Thanks for the input. Actually those are the places I finally just said "Oh well to" I wanted to show as much of each different thing as I could, so those made the cut. But you're right I could slip in those two things I missed. I actually had to go back and change things drastically to add in the webstream stuff last minute.

The super-soldier run was really an attempt to amp up killwhoring in the game, but I get what you mean. I have half a mind to cut most of it because of the low quality and length of it.

The ending part was supposed to be bad, so I'm glad you used the adjective nauseating. Higby tweeted something like "I wonder how long it'll take for a dubstep remix of that shot".. so I just threw some velocity around and got obnoxious with pan and zoom.
It was bad enough that I had to listen to a number of dubstep songs at random before I found something appropriate!

Well cut and matched the pace of the music, great work and good song choice.

What program did you use to render this?

Vegas, it actually rendered decently well to fit the size I wanted. There wasn't a lot I could do about the low grade GDC footage. So, if you were more specific, I might be able to fix it... but I can't fix bad source material.
Webcast is a recording of a stream, so not much I can do there.

Also, probably the second video I've rendered. So advice is helpful. My first render came out to like 50 gb.

Yup. I hear that. And yah, some look more hazy now that they've been uploaded. Especially the hotdrop higby does and that night footage.

I plan on adding PS1 footage for nostalgia's sake, as you say, most of us have seen the videos TOO many times. I'm working on adding PS1 now but just getting a headache over it.

Apathy is one thing I can understand.
