Actually, since I'm a freak I have checked this frequently over time. In the last few weeks, it has said "forums are under maintenance," like when they normally take the forums down. If you enter some other random thing like "eq3," it gives you the plain text error

However, like I said you got the standard maintenance error for PS2. I even checked this yesterday. I wake up this morning early, and find the PS2 forums in all their glory.

This. With as big as this game is going to be there is no reason there won't be fan sites with a huge user base.

I'm just hoping the PS2 forums just doesn't turn into a bunch of trolling. Thats all it has been for years now in the PS one. Even if it does I don't have to worry about it at least.

Wouldn't be surprising at all. While PSU is quite.. exceptional on a fansite level, we're still talking about official forums vs. a fansite here for a fairly hyped new game.

I think the PS2 forums will be the first spot for all the noobs and trolls, and PSU forums are more for the experienced/veteran players. I think there will be a difference in the quality of threads between the sites.

It depends, we all have busy lives with our careers, family and school. I have a little more free time though because I'm still in college.

On a side note, PC gaming is not really all that. This game will be hacked within the first 2 days, I no doubt about it. ******* does not tolerate cheating, and one thing we do not like is playing against people who cheat which give a unfair advantage.

Obviously you don't know how exponentially more advanced hacks are becoming, easy to use, and harder to detect. The original Planetside had a few public hacks, but that was because it was a pay-to-play.

Something you must understand, cheating in this game holds no consquences such as the original Planetside. Get banned? Create a new name and go again without paying. You can see this in ALL free-to-play games.

Well we know it's going to be Free 2 Play but in most games that means no subscription but you'll still have to buy the box/license to get your foot in the door. Do we know for certain that isn't the case in PS2?

I'm hoping people will still have to buy the game, that will cut down on cheating a little and help with advertising sinces casual gamers still "shop" for new titles in stores.
