I thought with the recent beta key hysteria flying around I would post here asking something to do with Planetside 1 and Planetside 2

What did you do on your 1st ever log into Ps1 and will you do the same for PS2?

I dont mean look at how pritty the graphics are and maybe spec into a aircraft and go sight seeing I want stories of any new player adventures

Mine started after I pressed instant action I did not even bother going into the cert terminal / any other medium assault till much later ended up in a tower just outside the dropship centre on Amerish there I caught site of my enemy's and then got killed to a bolt driver round x2 after that little misshap I ended up back at the sanctuary and tried again armed with my very own bolt driver after some cert leveling up the result was a fantastic evening of sniping and getting either boomer'd bombed or sniped myself Logged off with a sence of yep this game is awesome and cant wait to play again ASAP!!

with that in mind Planetside 2 I am aware of whom my enemy's are I am also less likely to be a easy target wondering around like I was before I know who to shoot at I know what to avoid problem is will it be the same or different after all the bases now are a lot bigger the scale is also going to be a lot bigger its a good thing but for now its only stories of what happens to keep us going till the stream starts and to try take peoples mind of beta key roulette over on facebook :rofl:

second login, i figured out how to gtfo the sanc and found someone to shoot.

I installed planetside on my first computer where I had an average of 5 fps while playing it. In my first fight I took a suppressor and pulsar with me while scoring a stagering 1/10 kill death ratio...

Yea well things that you rember often stick with you 3 things from Ps1 still stick with me today killing a galaxy with a amp is one of them I will never forget the tells I got for doing that I wish I still have the screen of it 7 people with a amp on the kill spam.. :evil:

Sadly, I don't think my first days in PS1 were very fun...probably took a few days to find a good outfit to join. Haha

When you first created your character back when it was first shipped you were given the option to either go to sanc or go to instant action upon creating your character. Being an obnoxious child I obviously chose instant action and spawned at an interlink right as the spawn tubes were being taken down by hordes of VS. I was hooked ever since.

I remember the first time I logged in and saw around 20 of my friends from a previous game. We all got together and i think went to VR thinking that training was a must before you could leave for war.

I also remember grabbing a stealth suite and my buddy on TS just shouting "stay still stay still!" i saw 3 or 4 max`s run past us and they didn't see us lol, I was so amazed by that, With the music playing in the background and the grass all around us wit us just hiding there, it was awesome.

The very first time playing PS1 was with a mate. We knew each other from playing Lineage 2 in the same guild, and he just talked about PS when i joined the channel for the evening. I did listen to one of his war storys for a minute, and then asked what game he was talking about. He said Planetside, i asked what that game is about, and he just started to talk. I do not know what he want to say, but he started with "Its a MMOFPS set in a...", i interrupted "MMOFPS? A FPS as an MMO? With like thousands players?" "A few hundred, with vehicles, planes and stuff" "Link?"
Then he hooked me up with a link, i got a trial, and the next day after i finished the download (DSL 1k back in the day :D ) we went in together.

I joined his faction, TR, as well as his outfit. Having no clue what to do, he hooked me up with a seat in his harraser, and we drove of to Hossin. We went around, hacked towers back, bumped a cloaker, and then we went to that one tower in the swamps, and i had my first kill ever (a NC).

Since that very moment, i was hooked.



In PS2, i do not know what i will do first. I want to see if i can flip a sundy, i want to fly around in all the planes, i want to do everythign at the same time. Lets see what will happen in the end, because just like back in the day in my first time playing Planetside, and during all those years playing it, i do not know what may happen next. :)

To be fair, it didnt end there. Both of us didnt have adv hack, so we went into the tower, mate hacked, i defended (sitting right beside him, noob error :D ). That NC i killed came up again in a scatmax...

That was my first engagment with a scat, and i did no know that i need AV for him. ;)

When I first got PS my family's computer couldn't run it, so I had to wait 2 weeks to play while I waited for my first gaming rig to show up (Overpriced Alienware!). Read through the manual a few times and played what very little of the broken offline training I could (show how to hack CCs and make loadouts, then bugged out on driving a harrasser). So, on my first spawn in the actual game I had a slight advantage over the average noob.

Grabbed some certs, made a favorite, got on the HART, dropped into Sobek/Solsar. The fight had just ended and some NC were loading into a Sundy to go to the next target. I jumped into an empty seat and got a /t from NinjaBlaze saying it was outfit only, so I joined Army of One, and started killing stuff.

I also remember dropping on cont in the middle of nowhere, walking over a hill and spotting an enemy tank. I carefully flanked it, my heart was pounding furiously... Only to realize that no one was in it

I don't remember the first thing i did, but i do remember my first gal drop into a hot base(Red Alert):

"OMG fully loaded gal"

"Wow look at all that gunfire"

1-2 FPS...

"Ok my computer sucks but this is amazing"

I press alt + G, begin to drop...

And bam... my computer just pauses for a good minute.

When i come back to my dead corpse i realize how epic this game really is.

Sad part is that computer was a gaming computer, just somewhat old at the time.

I was much younger and new to MMOs in general.

I joined VS which I stayed with my entire time playing.

First thing I did was that old Single player tutorial thing (anyone have footage of that??) I'm pretty sure it showed you how CoF works and stuff like that lol.

The first thing I did was instant action and wonder around with a beamer and a suppressor in the standard armor until I got killed by a stray NC.
I was too noob at MMOs to really realize the social side of it so for a long time I just floundered about until I understood how to find the battles and get loadouts properly etc. But that first day IDK why I stuck with it cause I was confused as can be lol.

I got my friend BaneofMortality to join me a year or 2 later and he benefitted from me being around to show him what to do. I was like a fish out of water jumping in my first day with no one at all to show me or explain anything haha.

I remember the day i got into beta because i preordered it, first thing i did when i logged in was thinking how awesome this was when i saw other people, then i grabbed an enforcer "was nc in beta, ever since then been TR Goodspeed was my name" and drove to i think it was cyssor tower and i hopped out and got into the gunner to fire off the rocket toward the tower "that was tr or vs cant remember" walls then a guy came out and that was my first kill. Been hooked ever since, cant wait till next beta.

My first thing to do in PS2 would be to get a buggy but they wont be in at launch, so i dont know what ill do.

first time i logged in it was a few months after launch, i had a kick ass computer that i built myself (still good by todays standards, but i upgraded) then i went to the VR training areas and didnt end up seeing battle til i knew what i was doing at BR 7. got my first kill at a tower on a VS MA with a grenade from my punisher. idk how i remember all this.

After travelling to another city because my city didn't have a copy anywhere, I eventually found a copy and got to log in day one. I just instant actioned and got straight to it on Oshur :D Then I spent the rest of the day testing out weapons and vehicles in the test areas.

I hope they come back in PS2.

I created a VS, instant actioned and ended up at Forserals East warpgate tower. As I checked the map I realized I needed a vehicle because that was a long damn walk. I saw a guy hotdrop out of some plane and saw the plane go over a ridge. Me being a nooblet didnt know that it had been blown to pieces upon crashing. So I take off after the plane and eventually get too far from the tower and have to walk to Dagda. Thats all I can remember. I probably died many times that day. lol

I stood there in shock for a few moments. Figured out the certing a bit, grabbed a vehicle cert, went to the vehicle bay, grabbed a vehicle.

Stood there in shock for more moments. Decided I would do anything for the game, and it became the first MMO subscription I ever had.

I ran in my PJ's into the HART and dropped in near an enemy SOI that was close to a friendly VS base. Ran around trying to kill folks with my Suppressor. I actually got a few kills, amidst the dying/respawning at tower/dying.

First time i remember just logged in and got on the HART, landed in the middle of Solsar and not a single soul to kill, 15 mins wondering in the base i found the recall button, and spend a lot of time in the VR checking all the guns out.

The first time ill get onto PS2 tho, ill plan on get all the AA guns and certs i can get asap and shoot all the people that will start learning to fly their air vehicles, free points right there.

My first time in game I hit "Instant Action", loaded into a friendly base, grabbed an ATV out of the vehicle bay then promptly ran over an enemy TR infantry man at the front gate killing him in the process.

It was pretty much all downhill for my KtoD ratio after that. :lol:
