That the COD X thing that appears in the crosshair?

I always hated that because I kept seeing it appear when I was trying to sleep, just see that frigging X appearing like it was burnt into my eyes. However it does make the shooting satisfying knowing you hit the enemy, you need that kind of feedback, it's small but makes so much difference.

An option in the menus would be good.

If you think that hit markers are a COD innovation you need to lay off the acid.

If that's what they are then I associate then with COD as that is the game where I remember them from, what's the problem with me referencing a game I know?

I've played lots of FPS games in the past way before COD but that is the game I remember them from and the point I remember every FPS using them after.

Many games has the hit markers equivalents before COD in many diferent way not especially the exact X one but some half moon over the cross air and some others ;)

But i dont know if its or not a good thing to remoove those because its kinda good if the X isnt to big and also to LAG compensate !

In a big game like this hit marker are handy

Iam not a big fans of having to much hit markers or Numbers poping up and health bar etc..

But hit markers can be really good in a game like this to get better with recoils bullet spread etc... to manage it better and to get your distance rigth etc... hit markers are usefull

is SOE as confirme theyll remoove those ?
But it

They are still in, seems to be a circle now and only seems to show if you actually do damage.

Yeah I mean Quake 3 had that sound every time you hit someone but I mean Planetside 2 had an X and that's something I remember from COD personally.

I like them because they give that bit of feedback you want, hate them because they burn into your image lol.

I bet if it was a straight copy of PS1 with better graphics you wouldn't have said something that incredibly stupid...

Really? COD X thing? Sorry but CoD didn't invent the "hit marker".

PS1 veteran logic: "If it's different or new then it comes from CoD!"

RED dot spots over ennemys head are horrifics i dont want those at any cost !

I also dont want 3 d spotting like BF3 BFBc 2 iam against it !

But hit markers no matters how they are done is good i think especially with a big scales game its help a lot to get better shot and understand ur effective distance etc..

When you dont know how and when you hit at medium long range it become a spray and prey festival !

So personally i hope to see hit markers like feature BUT NOT red bubble spotting crap !

I was only seeing it on the vehicles.

Yellow 4 segmented circle is the "new" hit marker and it was on pretty much everything.

It's harder to make out with all the HUGEASS EXPLOSIONZ!

need a little more contrast with the crosshairs/hit indicators, blends too much with the action but other than that they looked good

This could very well be where the UI-customization they mentioned in the stream comes in.

I love hit markers, but if you don't like them then they should just have an option to turn them off.

could also be blurry stream that assisted in the blending since it could never look as good as someones screen

Excellent news! I still hope that we'll get player names/outfits when we look directly at a player though. I loved establishing rivalries in PlanetSide. There were guys that I would go out of my way to engage.

The year was 2002. A little gem of a game called Battlefield 1942 had the X. That is all.

Shh... Some like to remember their precious as a hyper realistic tactical military sim. You'll ruin their nostalgia by reminding them how it really was. :D

Aye, the markers are there but they are very difficult to see in the stream.

Cheers...

Although it isn't an X it is still in. If you look closely at the videos you can see a small semi-circle or full circle in the middle of your crossshairs.

I'm a fan of the hit marker but I really find that the audible representation is more usefull for me. Tribes and COD do this really well IMO.

Having some indication of whether you hit your target or not is crucial, it's how I learn to shoot in any game.

It's a small yellow circle as far as I know. It's slightly hard to watch tbh.

The first game I remember seeing hit markers in was this awesome game from 2003.
It had a little yellow circle in the centre of the reticle that flared up whenever you hit something.
It was implemented really well.
Informative, but not intrusive.

Can't remember what it was called though.
I was mint.
They should totally make a sequel.

I wouldn't mind if there was a toggleable option to have something like those little floaty bubbles above members of your squad (just as long as I can have it turned off), but yeah, having that one everyone was so bad.

Hit indicators are good though. Nothing wrong with that. Gives noobs a legitimate learning tool instead of just handing them kills that they haven't earned.

lol...yeah i vaguely remember that game. They should wait a little before they release any sequel. The world cant handle the awesomeness yet. Maybe in a few weeks or soon.
