Whenever beta comes out, will they have an NDA in place? I have a beta key already attached to my account, and I'm all set to capture some footage with my new nvidia 670 and i7 2700k rig with Fraps, BUT I want to make sure we're allowed to do it first.

Thanks in advance.

It's a closed beta, there will be an NDA. It has been mentioned by Higby that there will be no uploading of footage to youtube etc.

As per registration email:

"Should you choose to participate in the Beta testing, everything associated with this game testing will be considered confidential information, and you may not discuss it with anyone except other players through the PlanetSide 2 Beta game testing forum only."

Cheers,

So if I uploaded a couple of videos and pretended it was from E3 it would be taken down?

So... Yes there will be an NDA.

So if I uploaded a couple of videos and pretended it was from E3 it would be taken down?

I don't understand this mentality.

Seriously if you respect the people who worked hard on the game at all, you would respect their wishes and follow the NDA to the letter. Leaks can hurt the game more then help it.

In other news, there is now a "empty" official PS2 forum.

...or is it?

They'd probably just tell you off and kick you out of the Beta, legal action can be taken too but it's generally never taken that far. You'll get kickd&bannd

It's their game, they don't want Pre-release footage getting released because it's generally glitchy and imba as hell. Just look at how messed up the Battlefield Beta/Alpha was with corpses running around the battlefield and people falling through the map. The internet is full of idiots and a lot of people assume that a glitchy beta = the full game and they'll lose sales as a result.

Beta is a privilege extended to us by the devs, take what we get and be thankful.

They have select people who can record the E3 footage/upload it. so I'd imagine they would be able to tell if there was footage that wasn't from E3 being uploaded...
I would highly suggest against doing that.
