Reinstalled, can't launch?

Decided to resub to play one last time before PS2 beta started. I downloaded the client from the website and installed the launcher. I go to run it, and it gives me the little pre-launchpad window with the small and large progress bars. Both bars fill up, it says loading graphics, then closes. No matter how many times I try, I can't get the launchpad to start patching. I've looked for a launchpad.exe, tried restarting, and re-downloading and re-installing. Any ideas?

I assume you installed from the original CDs?

I tried the same and got the same problem. I got it to launch by opening the launcher in the game folder rather than from program files, but it won't connect to the game servers (most likely the IP has changed).

Better just to download it from planetside.com I think. It's only about 1.5gb.

I ran into this issue last night. I had to delete the launchpad folder and download the new launchpad. I can't get to the link now but if you google SOE Launchpad you should be able to find it.

Run as administrator, fixed it for me.

Not sure if it helps or not...But the game would crash when trying to load the game after the main menu. From the server screen I went into the options and switched to Windowed Mode. Game works now and I just play with a full screen window.
